If you'd been a cards fan since 1975 the Bidwills would register much worse than any player.

When the dad finally got out of the process I had high hopes and it HAS gotten better but it's still a terrible ownership situation.

Marv for example is driving me nuts this year, but compared to Clyde Duncan in 1984 nothing. Bidwill didn't want to spend money on his first round pick so he had them pass on the clear choice they needed, WR Louis Lipps who was OROY for the Steelers. We took Duncan from Tenn who most scouts had in the 4th or 5th round. We found out later they took Duncan because he told them he didn't have an agent and Bidwill thought it would cheaper contract. He DID have an agent, he was just told to tell teams he didn't. So long ago but I'll never forget it literally cost us a playoff berth that year. The team was loaded but needed a 3rd WR and we had to watch Lipps all year as Duncan held out, eventually signed and I think caught 1 pass in his Cardinal career

Ancient history though. Any such stories from the past 10 years?

Sigh... I know.

Do you think a professional athlete can get substantially better at handling pressure situations?

Because I can almost guarantee you, about 11 months from now, we're going to be in the exact same situation we were this year coming out of the bye.

Tell us your honest opinion, is there a realistic hope Murray will succeed in a division-winning, or playoff-berth clinching game in 2025?
It's professional sports so anything is possible. I believe the only way he can be successful in these situations is for the defense to carry the team. I mean the guy can make plays we've all seen it, he just seems to melt when the money is in the table. I believe he's scared and that causes him to panic in the pocket. I believe he's scared of failure and that causes him to panic in pressure games im sure he read all the comments about his play. Maybe he needs a sports phycologist??

I tbink it's easier than that. He realized he was probably over the LOS and hesitated, but then just threw it.
It that's true that is even worse. Well I'm past the LOS so I'm going to go for the TD? Makes no sense. Throw it for the first down if you're past the LOS and get a penalty then you live to fight another down. Also if he knew he was past the LOS then why throw it at all! Scared to take a hit? Quite possible....

Ineptitude on the scale of signing a non-franchise QB to a franchise contract a year early and extending the GM and HC a year before you have to then fire them when it all collapses, then cash-strapping the next GM/hiring a GM who won't spend a lot of money? We've got that.

Mikey is better and, believe it or not, less money grubbing than his dear old dad, but it's kind of like saying Bernie Madoff is a better financial advisor than the guy who lost you a bag when the Great Depression kicked off. You really don't want either of them in charge.

The NFL record is shared by Ryan Tannehill, Marcus Mariota, Philip Rivers and Nick Foles.

I just think he wasn't sure but he hesitated as if he was wondering if he was or not.

I'm going to pat myself on the back again on this one and point out that Kyler's who I said he would be... a divisive player like Jameis Winston. Not in playstyle, but the tantalizing opportunities that energize a fanbase mixed with an attitude and poor play in spurts that drives the fanbase crazy.
To be fair. It's just steadily got worse over the last couple years. You had to give him some time in the beginning to develop and see.... especially with the talent he displayed in his first few years.

No

Not in year 7 without something dramatic. And there won’t be any relevatory coaching changes to make a difference. He is who he’s always been. A dude who panics at the biggest moments in his career.

Sorry Russ but now the franchise QB doesn’t know where he is on the field?

It's actually not that uncommon I see guys on the regular throw across the LOS. But what Kyler seemed to do is hesitate. It was either do I run or throw, or am I across the LOS or not. I'm guessing.

He is who we thought he was! And we let him off the hook! (by giving him the big contract)

I know a lot of folks are phlegmatic about keeping KM for 2025, but I would ask them to consider if they want another season of MHJ trying to develop and "build chemistry" with KM as the QB.

Washington Post article today: "A WAISTED SEASON FOR KYLER MURRAY AND THE CARDINALS RAISES HARD QUESTIONS. Arizona quarterback is paid like a superstar, but his late-season performances have left plenty to be desired." By Jason La Canfora

I posted the link. There is no paywall, but you must register with the Post to get a free article.

"Bottom line: Of all NFL passers, only Will Levis (benched), Jameis Winston (benched), Anthony Richardson (almost benched), Kirk Cousins (benched) and Drew Lock (the last healthy Giants quarterback standing) have worse passer ratings than Murray since Week 11 — and few teams had more at stake in that span."
