Not according to Espo.
Holy crap, this happened today. I was listening to the podcast 2 days ago and she was running it.

What a terrible thing to do 4 days before Christmas. Screw PHNX. I will miss hearing from Gerald, but I'm out. Hopefully Lindsey will sign on with another pod. Nobody listens to PHNX Suns Podcast for Espo.

Steven is super smart, but I don't like his voice. And Eric is totally unbearable.

The most recent podcast on YouTube without Lindsey was particularly painful.

I didn't watch it all, I seldom do, but I respect the product they are trying to put forth.

A 4 person podcast is too many ppl. The only PHNX pods I really listened to were the D’Backs show but with Jesse getting laid off I ain’t listening anymore.

I seldom listen to podcasts unless there is something fascinating going on or a special guest.

The forum is what I use to debrief.

I liked The Timeline up until the finals run. They switched from a more fan driven experience to trying to monetize it. It's not bad but it's not as good as it was.

I noticed that PHNX was pushing paywalled content this year also. I get that everyone needs to make a living but there's so much content available online that it's almost criminal to charge the same or more than Netflix for 2 podcasts a week and maybe 2-3 blog type articles.

He didn't get a chance. He got traded before the season began but haunts us every time we play the Blazers. He was an excellent draft pick which was my point as you are ready to forgo the draft.
So you're saying players we draft and trade away become good.. ones we keep are trash.. tell me how this 2031 pick is so valuable to us?

Our track record hasn’t been the greatest and I don’t see any improvements. I just see the team as a train wreck. We can get rid of everyone for as many draft picks and hope with enough darts we can get something that sticks or just say screw it if we're going to wreck then lets speed this train up and keep trading picks away to make something happen.

Lindsey was the face. Steven is the guy I love to listen to. Erik with a K is annoying, mostly just the voice. Gerald is meh, just a yes man kind of guy.

I don't see James Jones becoming one of the longest tenured GM's in the league over the last 2 decades. He would get there if he was GM in 2031 to make that pick. Only a title gets him there, which isn't likely.

He got the job in 2018, for the record. I have a feeling anything short of a finals appearance this year will end his time here.

I don’t see him being the GM either but our luck the next GM would make even more bone headed mistakes.

If the Suns can keep their 2031 first round pick, it's something to consider. The trade would have to be somehow sweetened by the Suns.

At this point.. if the pick gets the deal done then lets do it..

We already sold the farm to get Durant. Might as well keep going..

Its like buying a Nissan GTR T Spec and debating if you should pay the extra couple hundred bucks for all weather floor mats. You already spent a lot so screw it lol

Every podcast these days is impossible to get through without using the :30 skip button. PHNX lays it on thicker than most. I doubt they’ll be around for the long haul from lost listeners.

Agree with Tyus. We should have many sets to get open shots for hot shooting hands and play better transition and scramble defense. Particularly KD, Book, Allen and Nurk are often mentally lazy to recognize the proper rotation to cover open shooters in transition or after loose balls.

Is it me or did the offense look better in preseason? There was more off ball movement then. We know guys aren't wearing themselves out on defense. No excuse for how stagnant they've been.

Why? We will draft someone thats trash anyways.

I just flat out disagree with this sentiment in it's entirety.

The only reason we were good in the Colangelo years was because we nailed the draft.

The only reason we dug ourselves out of the pit that Sarver put us in (largely because he sold and dumped a LOT of draft picks) is because we finally nailed some picks.

A reliance on trades with no trade capital and a reliance on free agents when we have nothing to draw them here... outside of the prospect of being grossly overpaid, is a sure fire recipe to be the worst franchise in basketball.

It's a feature of the roster as constructed.

If anything, we were lucky last season to have avoided long stretches of injury. Beal was the only player that missed a lot of time and Beal being hurt should have been expected. Nurk and Durant had their healthiest seasons in years and are now reverting to the norm. Booker isn't made of glass but he is a virtual lock to have one or two of these soft tissue injuries that cost him a few weeks each time it happens. Last year he tried to come back too soon and immediately hurt himself again.

That's ridiculously pessimistic. Different regime entirely. This isn't the 2010-18 Suns where Sarver and McD were calling the shots. Throwing in the towel isn't the answer.

Its debateable when the 2031 pick will have the most value but it's so far out that I feel comfortable saying it will hold more value in 3-4 years when it's within 1-2 years of actually conveying. See the long forgotten "Laker pick" we got from Nash as an example of a pick growing in value as it came closer to that draft.

Wow, I'm speechless. Agree with you about Lindsey and Erik -- Steven is really knowledgeable but his voice is grating.

But Gerald is easily the best beat writer for the team. By a wide margin, actually.

I do hope you guys are right my friends. We keep the pick and make something happen.

Maybe I am just losing faith in our team's front office. I just look at our team and its pretty much players we didn’t draft. At least not core players or starters.

Well let's revisit this in 2031 and laugh about it later.

To you maybe, to me it's something else entirely. It would be like setting 1,000 dollars on fire to see if the god of volcanoes would reward you for your sacrifice and when nothing came your way, you followed it up by setting another 500 dollars on fire in the hopes that the god of flames would take pity on you and restore your 1500 bucks.

I'd doubt the front office also if they forced me to wait at Waffle House regularly.

No, I'm not saying that. Dunn and Oso are excellent picks especially considering their draft positions. The last three picks this franchise has made have made an impact.

It cannot be ignored, the Suns traded away a first round pick for Landry Shamet and drafted Jalen Smith at #10.

However, it's hard not to feel the Suns are a group of mercenaries when casually glancing at the roster, aside from Devin Booker.

I'd say the jury is still out on Dunn and Oso. Of course, Camara was traded away.

I do have hope for the Suns last two draft picks, though, but they presently look to be role players. The same with Camara.
