I don't believe it. And as professional athletes and coaches that had better not be our attitude to these last two games.

What do we have to play for?

A winning record. That means something.

Two division games. Those mean something.

Show some pride. Go down swinging. Don't roll over.

Agree I hope they give it their all these last two games but I am doubtful. More likely if a player is banged up they will sit. Losing both would not be good for anyone.

Why would they give it their all the last two games when they didn’t give their all the previous games?
Because they are professional athletes. I am not saying they will give it their all, but they should. Or we really do have the wrong type of people.

Love your big heart ajcardfan, truly, but even winning the last two won't change the narrative that this team chokes big time in clutch situations.

I'm putting this loss today on my favorite player, because he's supposed to be an elite QB that can, at least once in a while, makes some magic happen. And he failed again, especially with that really, really terrible interception.

But the rest of the team choked today too. Really badly.

And so nothing is going to take the stink off this team except winning a December game that means something in the standings which is now impossible for another 12 months.

There is no narrative. There is only FACT. This team, under Kyler, consistently collapses in embarassing fashion every full season he’s ever played.

There is no removing the stink of this game if we win both of the last two. It will not excuse it.

But losing today is also not an excuse to roll over and die and stop competing in the last two games.

the only "consolation" for me is that even if we won today we were going to lose next week if Conner was out or not healthy.

When you watch the 2nd half after Conner left and realize how often we were still in 2 and 3 TE sets because our Wr's are so mediocre, you realize there's no way we beat the Rams without a healthy Conner(or presumably Benson).

We just don't have the guys to line up 3 and 4 WR and throw the ball because Conner can't go. So we would have gotten smoked.

Still wish we had won though

I’m wondering the same.
We were thinking about coming into town for the 49er game but I’m worried it might be a waste. Especially if the shelf Conner and a couple others.

This is how I feel. Many of these players need to work on their game. Particularly the young ones. The disappointment that was today’s game will in fact linger for some time.

This!…
If you can’t beat Carolina in a must win situation then you damn sure won’t beat LA or SF!
I am not even talking about winning. I am talking about the integrity to compete all out. Winning or losing these games don't matter.

I dunno about that. We have had a few games where JC had the lowest ypc on the team,...and not just with the other guys only having 2 or 3 carries. We have a solid stable of backs, and while JC runs the toughest, most of the other guys hit the hole with more speed... they get 8 or 9 yards out of a hole JC gets 5 or 6 from.
As long as our line blocks it our running game is fine...except maybe 3rd and goal from the 2

Agree, as a competitor the desire to win is inate,...lose that and it's time to hang up the cleats.

However,...it will be telling if JG starts giving tons of snaps to Joe nobody and whodat jackson

if he can't go next week and Benson can't it'll be Carter and Dallas. They have more speed yes but they're not going to be able to pound the rock against the Rams the way Conner can. And we just don't have the personnel to change and go 3 and 4 wr and throw the ball.

Knowing Conner he would have probably tried to play anyways but if he's not healthy I don't see any way we would have beaten the Rams next week.

I have no doubt Conner is hurt. But it is a little unusual that he stayed on the sidelines walking around.

Why? I mean what was unusual about it?

Don't know what the injury is. But usually guys either go to the locker room, like Williams did, or you see them on crutches. Leg iced, etc. I am not implying anything nefarious, but it is a little unusual.

I think he was just trying to fire up the team. at least twice he was visibly handslapping and firing guys up before he got hurt. Definition of a leader.

I have to admit on the first long run the whole run I'm thinking Benson scores on that, Carter and DeMercado probably do too, absolutely perfectly blocked. But then on the replay I'm not sure they all make the same read he did to get that far out in space untouched.
