Loved the video clips, so much happening across the board.

On Marvin's long catch/broken play against the Rams.
Looks like Fiske stunted to outside and the outside player crashed down on LT and LG. It was either holding on Rams to prevent the LG from getting Fiske or it was a hell of a power move taking out two big OL.

No doubt. Learning how to effectively hang in the pocket was what made Kurt so effective, and Kyler needs to figure that part of the game out to take the next step.

Kurt was so good at reading the defense and getting the ball out quickly, it often punished a pass rush.

Kyler’s biggest flaw is something that’s not his fault nor in his control. To reach his ceiling he needs to be in a perfect situation like Hurts or Goff.

It's a self scouting and comfort piece. 1st off, is he aware? 2nd, is he capable standing in the pocket as it collapses to get to his 2nd read consistently?

my premise is this: he currently does it -- and he is 18th, which isnt terrible. It wouldn't take too many more 2nd read completions per game to get him up in the top 12 or so.

I think it might be less about a collapsing pocket and more about being a tick faster to the read

Here's an article from a guy who broke down some Marv film. It's a good read.

Thanks for the read! I was losing confidence in MHJ early in the year. The video and analysis makes it "MORE" clear to me that we have to sign Trey Smith and hope that Hernandez comes back from his injury. We also need to draft one of the best guards this year to have in the waiting. We need to bolster the OL to creat a better pocket so Murray has more time to go through progressions.

How many resources will we continue to plow into the offense before we realize that you need near perfect conditions for your QB to thrive? How will we be able to improve the D when we pay a G 20M? Same question with paying premium draft resources for another guard.

It’s going to really be difficult to get out from Murray’s contract so might as well build up the team around him. Plus I didn’t say to pick up the guard in the first.

"When you boil it all down, the numbers and tape are showing the same thing. Kyler Murray is often getting the ball out quickly. Or he’s bailing and extending the play. But you’ll see that he’s rarely hanging in the pocket to let plays develop. It's a lot of quick plays or long plays without that many intermediate plays."

This certainly fits what I see.
Absolutely agree. Murray CAN’T hang in the pocket. He gets engulfed when surrounded by 6’4” guys with their arms in the air. Therefore he can’t see what’s developing.
He should never be dropping straight back. I’m not talking about rolling out. Simply moving right or left 2-3 yards coordinated with the o-line would work wonders.

You'd think with having 10 years of Russell Wilson tape in Seatlle, the Cardinals would figure that out.

Heck, or even Flutie tape.

I feel like even bryce since his got confidence back has 0 problems throwing in the pocket, even in the middle field

He still has his issues although Canales has done a nice job with him.

Kyler is still better from the pocket. However, I will say Bryce having longer arms than Kyler helps him to make those side arm/awkward angle throws when faced with with pressure.

Its why since the Keim days I've been saying he needs an elite interior. His arm/throwing motion cant save plays when their is pressure up the middle.
