The issue with all star games. I’m often asked how important are all star games for player evaluation. It’s of limited use. The lack of coordination amongst the players informs you to be cautious about making major evaluation adjustments. Some things are valuable like see an Olineman drive blocking an anchor tackle. Watching a receiver and CB compete for a pass. You can observe body catching though be careful because of the lack of familiarity with throwing style. Other things can be misleading. A bad pass can be a simple lack of time working together. Runners can fail to use blocks because their anticipation is misguided. Pass rushers get through because there is little if any film study of tendencies. Pure speed can be noted and agility. It’s just challenging. I value game study as much more valuable.
I actually think the practices are almost as important as the game itself. A lot of the nice highlights of players like Ladd McConkey and Quinyon Mitchell I saw last year came in the practices.

I think the practices are far more important than the actual game. You get to see these guys in one on one drills against their peers.
Agreed! I saw some nice highlights of both top shelf and unheralded talent. I just posted the same thing before I saw your comment.

Texas A&M DL Shemar Turner, a likely Top 50 pick, had to pull out of the Senior Bowl after learning that a stress fracture from camp, that needed a rod inserted into it, never fully healed, sources say. Turner, who played on it all season, was advised to have no impact on his leg for 3-4 weeks to let the bone finally heal. He plans to do Combine interviews and perform at his Pro Day.

Why wasn't Shermar Smith all that productive at A&M?

I'm really starting to like the trade back and grab Mike Green. Explosive, fast, can bend, and gets after the QB. Very productive.

1 - re: Shemar Stewart: He doesn't know how to finish and his bend is not that of an edge guy because he is so big. h eis raw and should get better.

2 - re: Green. don't get cute. Just grab him at 16.

Shemar Stewart has backed up his tape this week so far.

Mike Green has answered some questions about his size and play strength.

Both have shown they are aggressive dudes.

I like both better than Jalon Walker out of Georgia.
