i thought beal and lebum were the only one's with no trade clauses
He gets traded, but to make your new acquisition feel good with the trade, you try and accommodate their wants/wishes. You want them happy so they will play well. Plus it's probably the best move for Dallas to pair them up on the floor at the same time. There will be times they go "small" and have only AD on the court. Plus, having a center keeps AD from being banged up as much.

Cleveland was only 3 made shots away from having 100 at halftime.

I turned it on for the commentary. Ive been switching streams from Dallas to Cleveland and the Clevelans guys are hyping the trade for Dallas more than the Dallas commentators. They aren't really calling the game because it's so lopsided.

Thanks for posting. I guess from a logic standpoint, it makes sense if the Mavs looked around and figured AD is THE guy they want. Still, why only 1 first round pick. Seems like they could have been more forceful with LA especially with the gap in ages between the players. At least a pick swap on one of the firsts.

It doesn’t make any sense to me. But there’s only one explanation. Dumont and Harrison decided that they did not want to re-sign doncic to a long term deal. That was the first domino to fall. From there they inquired about the player that they wanted to get in return. that came with a price of losing out on multiple first round picks.

No it doesn’t make sense. Even if for some insane reason ad is your guy the least you can do is get all their picks and young players along with him.

One reason you don’t do that, it’s rigged.

I agree. Mavs should have taken all the Lakers picks. That’s called asset mis-management, not rigged. There are many poorly run front offices. Rigged is the lazy take. The ol’ woe is me.

And offload your dead weight like Dwight Powell instead of including someone useful like Maxi Kleiber.

Maxi Kleber is injured.

Kleiber is injured …not too useful lol
not only that he gives you nothing on offense. that is not useful. against Boston they played 4 on 5 with Kleiber on the the court when dallas had the ball.

I agree everything is not rigged. that's our society though. everything is some type of grandiose setup. we were talking rigged on here when dallas beat OKC last year in the playoffs.

this mavericks management team is not the one that drafted Luka Doncic. they clearly did not want to retain him longterm. that is not rigged, although I think it is dumb and is questionable when you factor that they did not consult their own coach and they didn't try to get more in return.

This is the dumbest trade I have ever seen by the Mavs....
I thought the Kidd trade was dumb too back in 94/95 or whenever that was. this is more dumb than that. my biggest gripe is letting Nash walk. that robbed he and dirk of at least one championship in my opinion.
