Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will throw at the combine, per sources. Ewers is healthy from the torn oblique he played through this season and is doing board work with Mike McCarthy and throwing with Jeff Christensen.

Great physical skills, but just makes dumb throws. Very hard syndrome to overcome.

You can say that for a lot of QBs. Brett Favre made a bunch of dumb throws. But there is also Jameis Winston. I like Ewers. If someone gets him late 2nd or 3rd, they'll be getting a steal.
For some reason people don't like him. He had Texas in the title mix every year, held off Arch Manning for 2 years, played hurt, seemed to play his best in big games, and was the highest rated QB ever coming out of high school. The guy has talent.

UCLA edge Oluwafemi Oladejo says he’s has had an informal interview with the Arizona Cardinals. Femi made the switch this season from off-ball to the edge for the Bruins

I think teams are far higher on Simmons than the draft community. I think Simmons is long gone by #16.
Every team is going to view his injury rehab differently as well as his lack of snaps. That said, you are correct that his ceiling is probably Chicago at 10 and his floor is definitely Kansas City at 31. I don't see New England taking him at 4. Wide range outcome player for sure.

Short shuttle for OL.
I think the 40 matters for small WRs and CBs.
Matters more for CBs. I can't remember which HOF WR I heard say that WR is overated if a WR can cut and get open. There is a reason it didn't matter that Anquan Boldin was slow, he could get open.

A CB who is slow is just going to get beat at times because he just can't keep up with a faster guy.

That is why I specified "small WRs" and not "all WRs". Boldin wasn't a small WR.

Elijah Simmons out of Tennessee is an interesting kid. Has traits and has shown flashes, but has had to manage his weight and injuries.

If Donovan Jackson or Tyler Booker are available in round 2...they need to be strongly considered. They aren't my first choices, but there is a chance they could fall because other players get taken earlier.
I like Jackson, but taking him depends on getting something done with the defense in free agency.

I agree, but also the board will have to fall a certain way. If the Cardinals go EDGE in round 1, and there is a run of IDL before their 2nd rounder, the Cardinals probably find themselves in a situation where the best players on the board are EDGE (again) and IOL (specifically those two IOL). i like the potential EDGE options in rounds 3 and 4 so in that scenario, unless I love an available DGE, I probably take Jackson or Booker and then EDGE again later.
