Donovan Ezeiruaku is having a solid combine to go along with solid production in 2024:

Ezeiruaku, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2024, produced the fastest finish in the three-cone drill (6.94 seconds) and short shuttle (4.19 seconds) among participating defensive linemen on Thursday. Per Relative Athletic Score, Ezeriuaku's agility work ranked in the 95th percentile relative to size among edge rushers. He also added a 35.5" vertical leap while covering 9-11 in the broad jump, giving him an unofficial RAS of 8.25. The athletic profile isn't complete because he didn't run the 40-yard dash on Thursday.

During the 2024 season, Ezeiruaku produced 16.5 sacks and 61 pressures -- checking the box for high level production. By Pro Football Focus' charting, Ezeiruaku finished in the top 10 in total pressures and lead all FBS players with 20 quarterback hits last season. His pass-rush win percentage was 18.2%.
Why isn’t this guy getting more attention?

Right. So, like I said, if a player is tied on my board, I'd perhaps turn to RAS as a tie breaker. No way would I (or should anyone) say, "Man, I had this guy rated early 2nd, but now he's in play at 16 because of his RAS." And you can't tell me there aren't scouts and/or GMs that would do something like that.
This all started because you got frustrated that Gator posted Shemar’s RAS. There was no comparison between prospects.

Tank Dell ran a 4.49 and he's small, but he's been very good. The third round seems reasonable for him. I'm not saying we should take him, because we've got other needs, but we do need a WR.

RAS matters.

Only 20% of players have a RAS over 8 but they make up 59% of Pro Bowl players since 2000.

Those below 5, which is around 50% of of all players, make up around 12% of Pro Bowl players.

There's a huge increased probability of hitting on a star if you draft 8 and over.
But what were their PFF grades?!??

Ah, your standard. Ignore what doesn't feed your narrative and cherry pick what you want. I am *gasp* clarifying my position--crazy, I know, that this is possible on a message board! I'm also, you know, partially agreeing with you.

Smallish. Has a maxed frame. Looks more like a designated pass rusher specialist but we've seen guys like him become full time starters in the past. He could be a round two target if he's there.

People often overlook the fact that some guys are just football players regardless of athletic prowess....and advanced instincts trumps athletic ability in many cases
It can, but it doesn't mean it will. That's like someone saying they don't understand why Evan Weaver didn't stick in the league. It also depends on the position. Some positions place more importance on physical traits than others.

Has this board forgotten about Isaiah Simmons already?
Pause.

Harry made a response about valuing production in a college prospect.

Oaken then made it a convo about valuing traits over production.

Now you are asking about Isaiah Simmons.

That is misconstruing the convo completely. Simmons was a match of traits AND college production. It was not the same scenario at all.
