Thats because in part because 18 of his 33 hits are extra base hits! 4 of his 15 singles and 10 walks have resulted in a SB! Crazy stats!

I forgot what game he got his first SB, but it was relatively late into the season so far. Like you said, when you start at second or third base to start, not that many opportunities. Plus I think they have been wanting to keep the hole open on the right side so far with the first baseman having to stay put on him.
