    Right. Both Anarumo and Dave Sears (who they just hired as assistant GM) has a long history with Ben Johnson, but he is right now a very successful OC for the Lions, so they would probably not let him leave. Dave Pitcher, quarterback coach for the Bengals, could very well be his OC choice.

    To each his own, I guess. I would be excited with Brian Flores or Brian Callahan, and to an extent with Lou Anarumo. I don't think at all that the interesting candidates have been taken, and I also think it is more important to get it right than get it fast.

    Given that Sears was responsibly for the SEC, I think it is likely that he had done a lot of studying on Ryans' personality and character, and that he had a big input in that the Texans drafted Ryans. They might even have met a time or two.
