    10 thoughts - Bills game

Yeah, that is another mystery. I mentioned it a little earlier in this thread, how Clark made a great open field tackle of Josh Allen, and you would think that kind of play would get you on the field. That said, I also mentioned earlier how Gannon very rarely use outside cornerbacks under 6'0...

I agree, Britcard. In all fairness, Nichols and Jones didn't play in the preseason, so we only have one game to judge by, but at least they are not supposed to do anything that Lopez cannot do as well. I am high on Lopez.

I guess that Oaken's and my prayer worked kind of halfway. It will probably be Beachum again. It scares me a lot.

That I am not sure about, Slanidrac. That kind of offense worked fine all through the first half, and the Bills had major momentum after scoring in the drives right before half time and right after half time (that is, by the way, a very undervalued thing to have the last drive before halftime)...

Clark did not have as good a preseason as Hall, but I agree with you overall point, Harry. By the way, Clark made a superb tackle in the first quarter where he singlehandedly brought down Josh Allen, who otherwise would have scored. Anyway, one of the big mysteries is that Ossenfort have only...

1 – Considering how well Jesse Luketa and Darren Hall played in the preseason, and how not-well Victor Dimukeje and Kei’Trel Clark played, it was a surprise that the two latter were not the inactive players. 2 – The Murray-to-Harrison connection needs “a little” finetuning. 3 – The defense is...

I think it is certain that Brett Veach do value a 7th round pick, as all other front office-guys, and I think that they used it on Thomas for the exact reason you write about. Because they see something in him, and that has probably been re-affirmed this preseason. :) Again, I have never heard...

Yes. General managers are obsessed with draft picks. They don't just throw out one if they see a guy who can only produce against backups and backup's backups. Every team already have those guys on their own roster.

Cardinals cut list and new signings/trades

I hope they pick up an edge rusher. I liked both K.J. Henry and Andre Carter in the 2023 draft. Or it could be a reunion between Gannon and Kyron Johnson.

Nah, I guess the Chiefs saw the same as me.

That is true, Cardpa. Though I did read yesterday (I think it was) that he admitted that Maye was further ahead in the race. It's just that high draft picks always play. Coaches always says that it is a competition (and I actually do believe that they would want it to be), but in the end, the...

Yes, Slanidrac, I completely agree, but not many does it, and yet they still make the team.

No, AC, that was not what I meant. I apologize for giving that impression. My point was that it kind of annoys me that the NFL thinks that they are much smarter than the judicial system. In my opinion, it is a bit disrespectful to just ignore the law and the rulings by legal authorities...

ZF, I must say that I disagree. Finding good enough quarterbacks is arguably the most difficult thing to do as a general manager. NFL history is full of general managers that have failed in that search. And, in my opinion, Dobbs was fine for a couple of games, but the second that teams started...

1 – I realize that this column will be outdated tomorrow. Oh well, can’t win them all. 2 – If you think this game was irrelevant, keep in mind that many of the players will end up playing one, two or many significant snaps for your favorite team. They might very well be the deciding factor...

I understand your thoughts, Sparky, and must say that I obviously don't go to the games myself. I can see why you and other have a different perspective.

That is what makes the preseason so important and exciting, Krang. It is where the coaches need to find out who they want to try to develop, and to us fans, games are much more fun than practices, simply because we obviously don’t see the practices. I must admit, though, that I find the team...

    10 thoughts - Colts game

I disagree, BritCard. I think it is just of matter of how you approach it. Certainly, you are not going to see how X player will fit the team in situations, where he will have better players around him, but if you approach it as an audition, then the games make a lot of sense. It is primarily...

I will just ask stupid, CFL. Is MO Marquis Hayes? I think that Hayes have been average in these games. Not fully bad, but not someone that I have noticed. But you raise a good question. Who do they keep? They are not going to cut a third-round pick, so Adams is safe, I would guess. I also feel...

    10 thoughts - Colts game

I completely agree, Redsz. Tune have played much better, but I also read that some personnel guy (with another team) predicted that the Cards’ backup quarterback was not currently on the team. Even if he does get cut I still think it was a good trade, since Rondale Moore might have gone the...

HZ, I agree, but right now I must say that I care less if he is a complete player. I think it is all about rushing the passer, since none of the others are very good at that.

    10 thoughts - Colts game

1 - Jon Gaines and Isaiah Adams have not played well in the two preseason games. I liked Trystan Colon at C, but at guard he is horrible. Marquis Hayes is a longshot to make the roster. Evan Brown have not played at all in the two games, despite not being injured, just like all the other...
