    He might reach those numbers, but his efficiency would drop off a cliff. He has two moves, a hook shot over his left shoulder and a jab step jumper. His ball handling is practically non-existent. He doesn't have the skillset to be a first or second option on a team that isn't trying to tank.

    I know this was meant to dissuade, but what I see is an erratic, 23 year old player with exceptionally rare fluidity and ball handling skills for someone who is 7'2". If I am a GM, this is the exact kind of player I want to sign to a min deal with my final roster spot.

    This assumes Portland would not have demanded Bridges to be included in the trade package. Maybe they wouldn't have, but I'm not sure that's a safe assumption considering the value he reportedly has across the league.

    I think the game is still too fast for him. I think he's thinking about what he needs to do, rather than instinctively doing it. I think this is why he gets in his head and becomes dejected/disengaged/timid on the court. He's frustrated/frozen when his processing falls behind the action.

    Ayton had an elite physical profile coming out of college. He has an athleticism advantage against just about every opponent he takes the court against. For a 7 footer with a 43.5" vertical, you would think he might be tempted to show it off a bit.
