- Excellent points. I like talking about the old days, even though they were so horribly painful to live through...
- FWIW, Tullouch and Lawson would be great additions. James Jones scares me a bit with those big spot drops, but that can be improved.
I am all IN on this #aeneasforPFHOF campaign. Need to get a hashtag going.
How many times did that cheating F Michael Irvin push off Aeneas and not get flagged for PI? The Playmaker had like 9 legit catches his entire career (all figures approximate).
No surprise here, but class act all the way and super nice guy. He personalized the autograph card, and also added "Romans 10:9" (which is: 'If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.').
I was pleasantly...
OK, we just disagree. Palmer has enough money to retire, as he has indicated. Palmer also told Peter King in the summer of '09 that someone would die on the field from one of these violent collisions. I'm guessing he's not bluffing about retiring.
The Bengals can either get something for...
Fair enough, below average may have a bit harsh - but every time I watched the Bengals he was throwing a pick at a crucial time. I guess after last season I would take the Knight from Monty Python ("It's only a flesh wound!") to play QB, so yes Palmer would be a major upgrade. That being said I...
:yeahthat:
That's my point. Coming off that season, plus Palmer's obvious disdain for the entire organization, plus Andy Dalton means Beanie plus a 3rd is just too much IMO. Every team knows this, and will be submitting lowball offers. A 3rd plus a 5th won't get it done?
What leverage do the Bengals even have?
Palmer is coming off a below average season, has publicly stated he would retire before playing another down in Cincy, and the Bengals are about to give some nice $$ to their QBOF with the red hair.
Beanie + a 3rd round pick? No way. If Graves...
- Oh you just had to bring up the Tony Jeffrey memories....you know, that guy we drafted ahead of Thurman Thomas!!!! I remember (after about the 100th time ESPN cut to a seething Thurman sitting at home on his couch) thinking that Thurman would be playing with a major chip on his shoulder. Who...
Thanks for the link to your site, good stuff. Would love to see some combination of Mario Harvey, Joe Lefeged, Pat Devlin, Mark Herzlich, and Ryan Bartholomew in Cards camp. Clearly they will address OT/OG once Free Agency starts.
This is very sad. 44 with three young kids; my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
After reading this, I immediately scheduled my age 40 physical that I had been delaying.
Thanks for posting this link....
This line about Metcalf was funny. I was just a few years away from actively following the Cards, but Hart and Gray were still going when I started rooting for the Cards (from NJ!)...Metcalf not so much. Jim Otis and Metcalf were pretty bad ass in this video...
Sadly, this is 100% true. Every game they receive gifts, it's disgusting.
Other thoughts:
1 - Despite growing up in NJ, I had many friends who were true diehard Steelers fans, and who were always very respectful. Heading down to SB43, I actually thought that in the event we lost - at least...
Great post as always, but sadly I completely agree with what Cardiac said....in that, what makes you think Kurt has any desire to be an OC or Head Coach? The hours involved to actually be good at those positions are crazy, and Kurt (seemingly) wants to do more with his life than to be the one...
Yes, we're going 7-9 and stealing the division!

"But the beautiful thing about the Cardinals, the magical thing, is the way they lost. The magic began with the Cardinals' first home game in Arizona -- that was Sept. 12, 1988, a Monday...

Gotta love winning!
...had forgotten what that was like....so two back with three to play, we stomp the guts out of the Saints (AGAIN) in the 4-5 game, then we have to man up on the road....all very doable..:)
Great write-up as always, Skelton looked good especially the Big Ben-like...
...which begs the question, was he consulted on the Leinart/Anderson/whom else to bring in decision? Yes, it goes against the entire concept and foundation of a "team" sport, but we all know the elite athletes are treated differently. If the Cards wind up trading Fitz, we all know it will be for...
Fair enough on Roberts on punt returns, but from the line of scrimmage he appears to run good routes....and once he catches the ball has some serious juking ability. Compared to what we first saw from him in the preseason, I'm very pleased.
Punting on 4th and 6 inches was simply quitting on the game and the season. Some sh^t got thrown and broken in my house after that decision. Camera cuts to Fitz shaking his head in disgust walking off the field. Just what every Cards fan needed to see, our star player looking as if he was...
I'm in....the insane asylum (wife checked me in after last night's game)...."How can you poison our sons with this affliction?"....yeah, good times....
