    it feels like there are three pass rushers: Turner, Verse and Latu. If one of them falls into the late teens / 20 spot -- i would be perfectly ok burning a 3rds to move up and get him. but that would be about it

    there is no rule that says trading down = out of the range of top rated players. this is especially true when the target of the trade up is a QB. if the Cards traded down to #6, thats still in the range of top-rated players.

    i think this is a strawman. Nobody is ready to trade down to 20 or something. If you have a pick that has excess value attached to it because a team can take a QB there -- a good GM should capture that excess value. A great one will do it AND get a similarly rated player

    i think one of the ways Monti will get cross ways with the Board is if he considers someone like Dallas Turner to be as good a prospect at one of the WRs -- so you get the trade down but not one of the 3 WRs (hello Ladd McConkey at #27!)

    that Brophy highschool football team has a few ex-Cardinal and ex-NFL player sons Kyle Vandenbosch has twins -- one is likely the QB next year, the other a LB iirc -- and both are being recruited by Div 1 programs Darren Sharper's son is a highly recruited WR for the team as well
