Wow, I had heard anecdotally that his 3point shooting has improved, but that kind of undersells it. He's shooting a career high in percentage (just shy of 39%) and attempts (8.2). Pretty impressive.
Yeah, he's another. Looked up his stats and his 3point shot has really improved. Gives me some hope that JO can get there eventually, though not sure the Suns can afford the time for him to develop that consistency.
Those two would be luxuries. I'd be happy with a Dorian Finney Smith or Royce O'neal type that can make open 3 point shots at a reasonable percentage but not much else.
I'd love to see how Little does in the Okogie role once he's healthy (if he isn't already). I feel like he can get you 80% of the defense and 200% off the offense when compared to JO.
Good to see some much needed changes in the gameplan. Much heavier focus on getting 3 point shots up (even if some of them weren't great looks), sub pattern in the 2nd half changed to have Book and KD start the 4th, Beal being the one popping up to nail any time the Lakers tried to trap/double...
That'd be more or less flushing the season away, I don't know who's out there that would be an upgrade. Doc Rivers? Budenholzer? D'Antoni? Kevin Young?
Perhaps, but I think it's going to be a taller task to get this team much better than where they are defensively. They're middle of the pack, which is higher than I expected tbh. Those missed 3s lead to a lot of long rebounds and secondary breaks for the other team, and it just kills our defense.
I think Booker needs to dumb down his PG game. Often times he goes for the home run pass (cross court in traffic, lobs off the dribble), and even when he's making the correct read, the pass execution is off. He needs to err on the side of making the simple pass and trust the teammates will get...
Yup, he's one of the few vertical threats on the team, with Eubanks and Metu. Would be interesting to see if he can function as a screen setter for Book/Beal/KD
He's shining as another off-ball rim protector. He may not block a lot of shots, but he's deterring drives just by his sheer size and length. For a team that's sorely lacking in interior defense, he's been a huge help on that front.
Booker himself has to make better passes out of these. He often draws the double team out a bit further but then his passes are slow to get to the option in the middle which gives defenders time to recover.
Larry didn't get to 10 assists in either of his 50-40-90 seasons: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/nba-players-who-made-50-40-90-club
Nash was the only one who has reached double digit assists.
Nurk rarely switches on screens, he drops back pretty far and there's a lot of open mid-range shots that are given up as a result. Seems like just about everyone else (including Drew and Azabuike) switches pretty aggressively.
