Both things can be true - he is a great player AND he is overrated. There is a lot of evidence that he is NOT a great team guy, and he seems more focused on stat stuffing than winning. Personally, I wouldn't at all be surprised if his career mostly ends up paralleling that of James Harden.
I know we started to compare him to Joe Barry Carroll - i.e., famously nicknamed Joe "Barely Cares."
But that's beginning to look like a bit of a slight on Carroll. After all, Joe may have "barely" cared, but at least he cared a little.
Yeah, I agree with this. It would be better to take a shot at finding a decent rotation player with a late first rounder than hoping some collection of second rounders will yield any value (even as trade bait).
But who knows given James Jones' apparent disdain for the draft.
Gee, let's hope.
A lot of people seem to forget he was a top 5 or so recruit out of high school. So it's not like he was just some extra tall dude they found on the street somewhere that they talked into playing basketball (more or less, what his father was). He's still raw but if he gets...
Well, I hope they can pick up another center, because if Nurkic gets hurt or (less critically but more likely) has foul trouble in certain playoff series, the Suns are going to be screwed having to rely on Eubanks and Bol for extended periods, mostly due to being undersized in general.
It...
Ideally, your backup center is at least someone who can be fairly effective if pressed into a starting role if your starter gets injured. I have a hard time seeing Eubanks as that. A lot of times he plays like a spider monkey on speed.
But I'm more dismayed about him because he was one of their...
Totally on par for James Jones. He has to be one of the most low risk/low reward GMs in the league. And before anyone mentions trading for Durant, we all know that wasn't him.
He put up 11 points and 5 assists per game, which is more than anybody on the buyout list is probably capable of. At a vet minimum, that wouldn't be bad at all.
Check the other thread. Hayes is actually probably one of the better guys available that is getting waived. Not saying he's great by any means, but the pickings are pretty slim.
Nobody to get very excited about there. Hayes and Gallinari are (statistically) probably the best players on that list. Maybe Thad Young if he gets cut loose.
Honestly, I am not too impressed with the "revamped" roster. O'Neale is "maybe/sort of" a minor bench upgrade. Roddy really doesn't bring anything above the four guys we dumped, and downgrades our overall size significantly. I also have a hard time imagining we are going to get any value from...
