Cardinals at Seahawks gameday thread 11-21-2021

I see Kyler out there in street clothes throwing 30 yard sideline routes during warmups. Coaches keeping a close eye on him. Don’t see the other QBs yet. Has anything been officially announced yet?

Wk 11-Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks Pre Game Thread 11/15/21-11/20/21

Excellent point about the division tie-breakers. We’d be very close to clinching tie-breakers over the Rams should we beat Seattle. Due to H2H, Division, and Common Games records, the only way I see for the Rams to then reclaim the tie-breaker advantage would be for: - Cards lose to LAR and...

    Seahawks vs. Packers

Not a bad thought. A tie for the Packers is like a loss for them, at least for how it relates to us. It would essentially render useless their head-to-head win against us in a 2-way tie-breaker, unless we also tie a game or the Packers tie a second game. Also, for Seattle to have a chance to...

were you ever a fan of a different NFL team before??

Always the Cardinals, as far back as I can remember, since the early 80s. Originally from New Jersey. My father grew up in the Bronx and he was a lifelong Giants fan and season ticket holder. My older brother liked the Cowboys and so I guess I saw a lot of the old NFC East — I liked the...

    Playoff Picture 2021

Record against common opponents comes before conference record in tie-breakers only when breaking ties between teams within the same division. When breaking ties between teams from different divisions, conference record comes before common games.

    Playoff Picture 2021

Of course upsets do happen. However, if the Bucs’ only remaining loss is to Buffalo, the bad news is that at 15-2, one of our losses would have to be against the Colts (our only remaining AFC game) to have any chance of winning the tie-breaker against Tampa Bay. Otherwise, our presumed two...

    Playoff Picture 2021

In a tie at 16-1 with LA, it would come down to “Strength of Victory” with Arizona having wins over Dallas/Carolina/Cleveland and the Rams having wins over NYG/TampaBay/Baltimore as the only differences (non-common games). The tie-breaker would go to the team whose trio of non-common victims has...

17.5 point favorites over the Texans

I checked out a site called Odds Shark which keeps track of prior spreads going back to 1980. Though the interface is a bit clunky, the largest spreads for the Cardinals (as favorites) that I could find were: 12/27/09: St Louis Rams +16 12/07/08: St Louis Rams +14.5 The Cardinals won both...

Cardinals at Brown gameday thread 10-17-2021

I remember something like this when Don Shula was chasing George Halas’ all-time coaching record. I think Halas had been awarded a few victories during WWII despite not being physically at the games.

Cardinals at Brown gameday thread 10-17-2021

It must be my Cardinals-themed COVID face covering. I’ve worn it to all four road games this season, and when including last year’s win at Dallas, it is undefeated at 5-0.

    Other games 10/17/21

ESPN will tell you that the NFL’s longest losing streak belongs to TB at 26. However, they don’t count the 10 losses we had in the 1940s when the Cardinals merged with Pittsburgh, which would put us at 29. Some day they will figure it out and put us on that graphic instead. Root for the Jags to...

No worries. I’m in the building too, and am the winner of four of my last five Cardinals road games.

Nashville Roll Call... who's going to be in town for WEEK 1

Will be there with 1 or 2 other Cardinals fans. The first of six (or possibly seven) road trips for me this year.

17th Game Added - Cards at Browns

The asymmetry won’t affect the competitive balance; one entire conference gets all the extra home games. This year the NFC plays at the AFC for the extra game. So for all the teams we’re competing against for the playoffs (ie, the NFC teams), we’d all have the same number of home/away games.

We don’t need the Bears to lose to get in.

    Goff has broken thumb

Poor Bears, must be cursing their luck. I suppose they were counting on us losing as insurance for when Green Bay shows up to claim the 1-seed. I wonder if their fans know our history against no-name backups. Rams are safe as long as Packers win.

    Win and we are in!!

Question: Let’s say GB/CHI and AZ/LAR are played at the same time and the Bears get smoked, and goes final first. Rams know they’re in, and a tie is good for us. Our game goes late into OT. If we have the ball and a chance to kneel down to run out the clock (Rams can’t stop it), do you do it...

So your telling me there's a chance!

We cannot be the 5-seed. Cannot play the East winner.

So your telling me there's a chance!

Hence why I don’t think they flex our game. GB/CHI will almost certainly go to 4 PM EST. I think WSH probably gets flexed to the night spot. No matter who wins Dal/NY, WSH has to play for the division.

So your telling me there's a chance!

Tonight’s Green Bay game doesn’t matter to us. Seattle’s victory will force the Packers to play hard against the Bears next week. But... even THAT doesn’t directly matter to us. If we lose next week, we’re out regardless of what the Bears do. If we win next week, we’re in regardless of what...

    Wild Card Tie-Breaker Scenarios

If we beat LA, we are the #2 team in the West. The Rams would be #3 and could NOT get playoff priority over us.

    Wild Card Tie-Breaker Scenarios

If Cardinals win, would be 6-seed with Chicago loss or tie. Would be 7-seed with Chicago win. If Cardinals tie, would be 7-seed with Chicago loss.
