Magic Match Mavs' offer on Gortat

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4324941 The Orlando Magic will keep Marcin Gortat by matching the five-year, $34-million offer sheet extended to him by the Dallas Mavericks, the Orlando Sentinel first reported Monday. Hahah suck it Mavs. Gave the Magic cash in that four-team...

    Pistons Gordon and Villanueva

word is hamilton and stuckey will start, gordon will be their Jason Terry-esque 6th man. the real question is, who will be taking the big shots at the end of games?

    Don't Trade Amare!

I don't know why everyone is so eager to trade Amare. The Jefferson trade idea was reasonable, but that has been shot down and now people are even drooling over an Amare for Jeff Green + Garbage trade. Sure, things went sour for the Suns last year and Amare has an injury history, but do we not...

    Is Dwight Howard still Superman?

ok hes overrated, are you happy? He's only really really really good instead of really really really really good. This thread is dumb.

    Is Dwight Howard still Superman?

can we not derail this into a steroids thread... yes at this time Howard is a defensive superstar, not a complete superstar. He is obviously more skilled offensively than Ben Wallace, shoots a better FT% too. He also is 23 where Ben was like 30 during those Piston runs. Howard said after the...

    Is Dwight Howard still Superman?

He's 23... he's really 'supposed' to lead the league in rebounding and blocks? Sounds pretty super to me. And his offensive game is coming along, he's never gonna score 28+ ppg but yeah of course he could improve his FT shooting and offensive repertoire. If you want to know what Ewing is doing...

09 NBA Finals- Lakers Vs Magic series thread

Come on Magic!!!! I fear Lakers in 5 or 6, but I am praying for a Magic championship - hasn't LA won enough? I am really excited though being a long time Orlandonian - the Suns are my number 2 fave team and have never won (like the Suns). I made a thread early in the playoffs asking you guys...

    09 Playoffs- Celtics vs Magic

GO MAGIC!!!! The Celtics are going to lose this series imo. Their first series was so draining, and they are thin personnel-wise. They have only Perkins and Moore to contend with Howard, and they have trouble guarding Lewis and Turkoglu's length. I say Magic in 6.

I'm not prepared to do a three- or four-year rebuilding period and win 25 or 30 games

Are you referring to the Suns? What 2nd-3rd tier FA did they sign? Nash was close to a 1st tier as evidenced by his 2 MVPs, they signed him to compete for a title. It is hard to see the Suns luring a 1st tier again, they'd have to get really lucky and have cap space.

I'm not prepared to do a three- or four-year rebuilding period and win 25 or 30 games

We just have to pray Amare returns to form and stays here and stays uninjured. Then we have a SHOT at relevance over the next 5 years. If any of those conditions fails we will be the next Sacramento Kings, a bunch of young drafted players and cast-offs, and eventually a second or third-tier FA...

09 Playoffs- 76ers Vs Magic playoff series thread

Its funny how u kinda miss more stuff going to the live game. I never noticed Howard's elbow on Lee or Dalembert. Didn't even realize Lee was injured until the 2nd half when we started wondering why Reddick was getting so many minutes. The Magic fans were really pissed at the refs all game...

Magic win! Was a good game, not really that memorable except Howard having a 24 and 24! Philly seemed to mail it in. I think orlando will close in game 6.

09 Playoffs- 76ers Vs Magic playoff series thread

He can do whatever he wants after making a last second 3 to save the series. As for Rashard - yeah that was a laughably bad signing. Guy basically stands around and jacks up 3s, does nothing else particularly well, and they give him a max deal. Brilliant.

09 Playoffs- 76ers Vs Magic playoff series thread

Tough loss for the Magic, although they deserved to lose basically - nobody but Howard showed up. I just bought tickets for Game 5 in Orlando - lower bowl, center pretty sweet seats. Taking my nephew for his 13th birthday Go MAGIC!

Playoffs 09 - Boston vs Chicago

36 pts, 11 assists in your first playoff game ever , as a ROOKIE, against a supposed defensive stalwart. Oh yeah you win the game on the road against the defending champs too. I know the Celts are without Garnett but still gotta give it up to the kid. The NBA has so much young talent its getting...
