That successful challenge was really bad, against the essense of the game rule. If Irvine's foul would not enter consideration, the previous Conley foul shouldn't either that resulted in Jones illegal screen call. Or, at least say Irvine move caused McD no more able to control the ball, despite...

That was foreseeable, once Goebert was in the lineup. Luka schooled him this way all game long. Finch should have sat him with stopping any 3pt shot as the primary goal.

MIN have themselves to blame for their bad rotation. DAL have better star power, when MIN was leading like 17-18, they needed to keep to the in-game flow of what worked best such as Kyle Anderson, but they stuck to their anticipated substitution pattern which Kidd certainly exploited, by...

87-86 with Irvine 2 3pts, exploiting the def. weakness that's Conley. Kidd is a much better coach than Finch.

Doncic was abusing Goebert with PNR, MIN refused to adjust, also refused to use KyleA who was very effective in the 1st half.

Watching how refs call this MIN-DAL game, our approach under Vogel has never had a chance to advance in the playoffs. I'm glad Allen improved over the season on defense, but our all offense starting lineup is just too weak on D, while not effetive enough on O. Our better defenders were glued to...

Rui would be the perfect running mate at PF next to KD. He's very good post defender, athletic driver and more than decent 3pt shooter. I prefer him over Cam J on this team.

I have no problem with the trade for KD, but question details of the deal and subsequent moves. When Rui Hachimura went to LAL for like 3 2nd rounders, we should have jumped in with either Crowder or Saric + picks. And then they gave up Saric for salary relief. If we did the Crowder to Bucks...

Kidd is a very good coach. But MIN is also capable of adjusting over the series. It's gonna be a great conf. finals.

MIN has the better overall defense, but lacks the superstar plays as Doncic and Irvine are both much more experienced and reliable scorers down the stretch than Ant. They lost middle in the 2nd half when their offense was chaotic, only coming back a bit by going to Towns for lowpost moves...

Empowering the rotation players! That seems to be the theme among all 4 conf. final teams. Except for Celtics, each of the others has at most one superstar, if Harliburton counts for one. Our rotation players all under performed, next to at least one of big-3 each game. That's mainly coach.

Mike Budenholzer - Officially Suns new Head Coach

Did KD have heavy issues with Kerr? The situation at Nets was a mess, and Monty's case was hardly KD's fault.

Ant fights through screens to chase Murray better, maybe due to size and strength. As defensive specialist on the team, MCD has the comparative advantage to take on the task of POA defense. However, Ant already has the tools to be the best wing defender, but it's not wise for the team success...

Ant is their best defender and puts his body to the task, like MJ and Kobe before him. I wish our best player Book could emulate him on D a bit. MIN had the proper double teaming designs on Jokic, while one-on-one Murray could do much vs. Ant in the 2nd half. And Ant drew constant double teaming...

Denver got complacent trying to hit 3s in the 1st qrt after their 9-2 start. By not hitting them, they lost their confidence and built up MIN's.

    The 2024 NBA playoffs thread

Everyone on the OKC team seems a better crunch time 3pt shooter than our Allen. Joe, Wiggins, Wallace. And Chet, JWill, Giddy also seem capable to score on our defense at will. But Mavs D is good enough to make them the standard role players they should be. A good defense is the foundation for...

    The 2024 NBA playoffs thread

Our plan of using Nurk to fight him a bit seems among the better ideas. It's too bad that we don't have the rest lined up yet, around our big-3. When it counted, Denver had big-3 with Gordon in it, while MIN only one in Ant. That makes big difference not compensated with pure youth, athletism...

Aaron Gordon single covered KD in our last PO series and is now doing the same on Towns, both times with great success. That seems raise his offensive game too, making it a pseudo big-3 with Jokic and Murray. MIN has just one true star in Ant, after this. Big-3 would shine once their team could...

    Suns 2024-2025 Season Discussions

I believe JO would opt out for a longer time deal with higher pay, which he was expecting last offseason. EG might opt out to go to Houston. Damion and Eubanks may be traded in combination with Little's.

Both Doncic and Irvine now bought in into their team concept, it appears. Both actually play very good defense, Luka's space awareness and rotating to the open guy on scrambles is excellent. Both are better than Booker and KD on team D. If they keep their health, I see them in the finals. PS...

    Vogel not the problem

I recall Allen was terrible of D early in the season. LBJ would abuse him after switch in the 4th each game, only Little and Okogie could hold off him some, and we lost all those games vs. Lakers then. Allen improved on D over the course but is still limited to defend the athletic and strong...

    The 2024 NBA playoffs thread

Denver adjusted to hold off Ant and Towns and thus the complete T-Wol offense. Mavs had Irvine heeding to the team concept, which is scary when he also explodes on scoring. OKC didn't get as many open 3s as previous game. Compared to all these teams, ours is definitely not in a position to turn...

    Vogel not the problem

Vogel was just too much talk of seemingly right ideas. Denver defense regrouped and stopped Minn's offense to get back into the series. Our weakest link on D is Booker whose attitude always seems to just get by with minimal motions on D, and committing fouls if needed instead of working on true...

    Vogel not the problem

His ability didn't make him the right coach for this roster. That's not his problem alone, but he has to go nevertheless, as the roster won't change enough to make him the right one.
