    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

Well, if Westbrook can co-exists with Durant, a less-shooting PG like Lin can do that with Melo. DA was good for jump-starting Lin's career. But Lin is not good enough yet to burden the responsibility of carrying the team a mature HOF like Nash was. His "system" with the rookie Lin was not...

    Clippers vs. Suns

Perhaps, that's only because Martin got away with a blatant moving screen for Paul's made 3, seconds earlier?

    Clippers vs. Suns

That's a great idea. I guess Magic would also be willing to send JRich and Anderson along the way to get Griffin + Mo and fillers. Howard/DJordan/Martin/Anderson/Butler/JRich/Paul/Foye. That's insane!

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

The most important point is that he has it as an option defenders have to honor, which opens the lane for basket attacks. However, unlike Boozer and West who barely jump with their "jumpers", Amare jumps high with his which makes his jumper prone to a lot of circumstances.

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

Amare has had no lifting in his jumps the last couple of games, which probably is also a reason for inconsistent jumper lately. But in the Atlanta game, he was trying his best to be useful to the team, with for his standard above-average defense and rebounding effort. Shumpert's PG skill is a...

    Amare looks done

He was a force last season for the Knicks until Melo trade and injury in playoffs. But this season, he becomes more stiff in his upper body and arms, and a lot slower and less explosive. That additional 20 pounds seem to really hurt him. Too bad.

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

He learns from his mistakes. By starting with 6 assists to only 1 TO in the first half playing over 20 min., he was not forcing it with drives every time under double team pressure like he did in the Hornets game. He "reverted" back a little in the 3rd but had himself mostly under control. This...

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

What people rarely notice is Lin's defense. Not only did he have 5 steals, but he has rare talent to rattle the offensive player's timing and moving ergonomics by his own pacing. Even when he seemingly got beat by a step or so, he recovers quick and smart to make the shooter feel pressured...

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

I get what you point out here. Lin was a scoring PG of sort back in college. I'd say he has great court vision based on experience. As MDA criticized in the postgame press, Lin was trying too much too risky plays/passes out there that resulted in most of his turnovers. It's a combination of...

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

To everybody's surprise, his PnR game with Amare isn't working well at all yet. And he even doesn't feel comfortable to gauge the passes to Amare, with two direct TOs for example. He has ways to go on decision makings to be like Nash in his last couple reasons with the Mavs.

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

The smart move would be sign a 5mil per contract with a player option as soon as he gets the full Bird status with NYK. With all the revenue generated by Lin's ascent for Knicks, they certainly would accommodate Lin anyway he wants it.

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

Lin still has a lot of growing to do. So, I'd wait and see whether NY really see the need to keep DA. If Lin is any good, he'd be good also under other coaches.

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

You don't want to tell me that the Suns went all Amare in game 6 because they were so convinced that Amare was the reincarnation of Olajuwan on ISO plays. Amare was driving by his first defender (mostly Gasol) at ease but couldn't finish against the collapse onto him around the basket. So, which...

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

But you now realize that I was giving Nash props by referring to that fact that he was not healthy for an effective Nash/Amare PnR in that 6-game WCF loss, right? Would you agree that a hypothetically healthy Nash would have made a huge difference in that series or you want to keep bashing on...

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

That team had a unique camaraderie for Lopez and Dragic to feel comfortable to perform to their potential. Say Amare was a big reason that their jobs on the court was easier? In fact, the great promises like Lopez/Dragic failed after the retooling of the team was another piece of convincing...

Source: Suns Closer Than Ever To Making Nash Available

The Suns are not actively soliciting offers if Nash doesn't request it. But they will listen to other teams and trade him if it's in team's interest. Nash is professional enough to not request that the team go out of their way to accommodate him by trading him to a preferred destination of his.

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

Great post! The revelation of the 2010 Suns was we had a great bench in Dudley/Dragic/Lou/LB/Frye, better than ever. With the coach not afraid to rest Nash with Dragic's emergence, it's the first time in years that we might have had Nash fresh for the playoffs. Also, Robin Lopez was having...

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

OK, I get you now. As JWB put it, you couldn't bear any comments that might be misinterpreted as slights to Nash. You yourself even conceded that Nash was broken down in 2010. So, the only logic behind your response would have been saying, that the PNR with Amare wouldn't have worked in 2010...

Best PG in the Game Today: Steve Nash

This franchise's personnel decisions have been a big chaos. I could understand not signing Amare for rebuilding and financial risks, but then why spending the same amount money on much lesser players or keeping Nash to minimize our chance of lottery picks?

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

I'm perplexed that you needed to paint it as a Nash vs. Amare thing. Well, Lakers was a better team as a result of their winning the series, but Suns didn't have the bread and butter of their offense called Nash-Amare PnR. True or false? Are You blaming Amare for not stepping up to the challenge...

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

As much as I'm a big believer in Lin and his fundamentals to excel at the PG position in NBA for a long time to come, Rubio is ahead of him by a lot in the passing department. He directs the offense with passes quite well when stationary. But on his drives, his passes are below average right...

Best PG in the Game Today: Steve Nash

He's been breaking down every single year towards the end of regular season since 2007. There is good reason for it: His team hardly could do much without him in the lineup and coaches (MDA and Gentry) wouldn't pull a Popovich and simply rest him for say 3 weeks close to the end of the regular...

Maybe letting Amare go wasn't such a bad idea

Not only that. Marion's contract is too huge for Suns to get talent somewhere else. Hypothetically, though hindsight, replacing his with Dudley and Gortat in their current contracts with their current level of play, Suns would have had better chance to win. In summer 2010, Suns could have...

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

I believe Lin is still on his rookie contract, which supposedly make him a RA in the summer. Although he was waived twice, but he actually never cleared the waiver. So, if NY wants to keep him, he is theirs for at least one more year.

    Anyone watching Jeremy Lin?

Sorry to ask, but do you even know basketball? Lin won the game for them against one of the better teams in the league. Magic Johnson was comparing him to a cross of Stockton and Nash. Even Jon Barry changed his halftime tone of reservation on him and questioned instead whether Melo might be...
