    Arizona Cardinals offseason thread 2022

I get the feeling that most of us here are making global pronouncements based on incomplete info.

    OTAs, May 23-25, Jun 1-3, Jun 6-9, 2022.

Seems as though Michal B (and we fans) are getting a bitter taste of what its like when a team shifts from a professional sports environment to “show biz” mode.

Report: Former Packers DT Kingsley Keke signed by Cardinals. Now Cut.

Cards seem to be predisposed to favoring players with the letter “K” in their initials. Only fitting, therefore, that they bring in a dude named “Ke Ke.”

2022 2nd round pick is TE Trey McBride

When you project McBride as a tall physical WR who can block, the move makes sense in the absence of D-Hop for half a season.

Football Outsiders: Cards will be one of the most fun teams to watch in 2022

Lou -“Lack of Maturity” is merely short-hand for “makes dumb decisions on the field at crunch time.”

Football Outsiders: Cards will be one of the most fun teams to watch in 2022

Harry - If Kingsbury didn’t “overcomplicate things“, we’d accuse him of being “uncreative.”

Bold predictions for the 2022 season.

Nothing - pro, con or even-up…would shock me.

Siss- It’s way too early to be all that certain.

Cardinals trade pick #23 for Hollywood Brown

Not that we can predict the future, but - Imagine where we’d be if Hop got suspended and we hadn’t completed the trade for M Brown.

What's your Main Area of Concern re: Cards and '22 Season

(I posted the following before, only to lose it in the pile of other posts): The quality of FO smarts, creativity and organizational ability used to be fairly spotty and not very consistent. These days, every FO - top to bottom - is consistently sharper and smarter. I’m worried that we’re...

    Our receiving options without Hopkins

Seems that all the solutions involve adding another WR via FA pickup or trade. What’d you all think about using the guys we’ve got to shift roles among our current receiving corps?

    Our receiving options without Hopkins

Using stats to evaluate Green doesn’t accurately rate him because they fail to incorporate his drops of catchable passes at crunch time.

Cardinals trade pick #23 for Hollywood Brown

Harry, Now that Hopkins is on-ice, do we go with “next man up“ plus Brown and Moore? Or do we scrap the current look and put out the best 3 WR on our roster? Or convert McBride to a “big ” receiver? Or make Brown our WR1 and McBride our WR2. Or move all 3-4 receivers around on each snap like...

What's your Main Area of Concern re: Cards and '22 Season

The League in general is smarter, works harder and is improved physically.

    What City Are You In?

My home in Central NJ is considered part of metro New York.

    2022 6th round pick B is Lecitus Smith G

Short armed OG’s may have been drafted to move to center.

    Draft Grade

Ouchie - There’s a difference between (a) shutting down all debate and (b) calling out the material containing faulty logic, inaccuracies or bias for or against the team merely to “fire for effect.” Bottom Line - Criticize dumb or inaccurate content, but don’t ban it altogether.

    Overall Draft

Too much of the success of each younster will hinge on how quickly (if at all) he develops toward reaching full potential. We don’t know yet which guy has freakish traits, is coachable, has a high reachable ceiling, is stuck in developmental mud etc. etc. (Look at our UDFA’s and the number of...

    Draft Grade

Too many unpredictables to support any forecasts. That said, we may have traded for the wrong Brown and could still use more depth at Tall-WR, OL and EDGE. Or not. We moved to fill in holes at RB, TE, OL, EDGE/ and CB but won’t know for awhile, which guys, if any, are depth guys, starters or...

Thank you all for the draft input

The single most earmark of this Draft was the depth of knowledge contributed by ASFNers of all shapes and sizes - from player write-ups to sophisticated technique/traits breakdowns to exc gossip to scouting analyses. We’re all the smarter for it. Thanks.

Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft

My gut says - keep an eye on M Hayes.
  24. JeffGollin

    2022 7th round pick C is Marquis Hayes G

Is this dude related to the former Harlem Globetrotter of the same name?
  25. JeffGollin

2022 2nd round pick is TE Trey McBride

Back in the Coach Mac days, he’d be inclined to target certain draft prospects and draft them one round “early” (to make sure we’d get him). Result - on a BPA basis, we were always one round less talented in stocking our roster. A BPA strategy makes sure we protect the team’s overall level of...
