    Thoughts on this draft...

Bosh has opted out. Carmelo (or some other player) could certainly join the big three in Miami but they would have to take hefty pay cuts. It would be pretty hilarious if Carmelo took a pay cut to play in Miami after Phil Jackson met with him and asked he wants to win enough to take a pay...

    Wade, Bosh, Haslem opt out.

I know, it's funny. It used to be that players were derided for wanting max money and not leaving room to sign other players. They were called money chasers. Now being a "ring chaser" is derogatory. It's just a coping mechanism for the fans of teams that do not have such good teammates.

    2014-2015 roster as it stands

They want to run more pick and rolls and their most effective PnR combination, by far, was Dragic + Frye. That doesn't mean they won't make changes (I feel like there will be at least one), but don't be too surprised if Frye is back.

    2014 Draft morphing

He's not compared to Paul Pierce because of shooting. He's compared because of the way they finish around the hoop. That's it.

    Thoughts on this draft...

Seems rather unlikely: 1) As noted, Bledsoe would have to want to sign in SAC. 2) I think The Suns would have to take back as much or more salary than Bledsoe would be getting paid, and it's not like they want a year of Gay for $18M.

    2014-2015 roster as it stands

No problem, Shavlik Randolph and Dionte Christmas. EDIT: Oh, and there's Okafor.

    Thoughts on this draft...

Per McD, the Suns want to run lots of pick and rolls, which makes a lot of sense these days. One of the knocks on Harris is that he sucks at PnR, so they probably had little interest in him. Ennis and Warren both look like good PnR weapons. Ennis better be good at PnR because he can't penetrate...

    2014 Draft morphing

Here is a perfect full game to watch that showcases his strengths and weaknesses. With some Hood, Parker, and Jeremi Grant for good measure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I91zsfOWHsc

No, I certainly never did nor would make that claim.

    Draft grades

I *really* want to see their draft board. How high would they trade up for these guys? What would they trade?

    2014 Draft morphing

Pierce is a much better comparison than Ceballos. In highlights, I see Warren using more positioning, length, and body control than quickness to score. In other news, Randle reminds me of Antoine Walker.

It won't be hard. "Hit open threes and make great passes to cutters."

Of course the Spurs take Anderson.

    2014 Draft morphing

The NBA hates Kyle Anderson. Aside from abysmal speed he's so good all-around.

    2014 Draft morphing

The 76ers got a future first to move down from 10 to 12. Not bad.

    2014 Draft morphing

Don't get your hopes up. They made it pretty clear they planned to stash or move a pick.

    2014 Draft morphing

Maybe the Suns are trading Ennis to Toronto for this super raw Brazilian?

    2014 Draft morphing

I don't know that I'd want the Suns to take Lavine, but I want him to be there to see if they take him.

    2014 Draft morphing

Randle is the player most likely to help the Lakers right now and screw up the Suns pick next year, right?

Wow, Jay Williams just made the interview about himself.

    2014 Draft morphing

I was at two of UCLA's games during the tournament and Lavine looked very good—during layup drills. He was lost during the games. Kyle Anderson is like a less athletic Boris Diaw. I like his game, but he's nowhere near athletic enough to play SF, and maybe not even PF.

    Lottery day thread

They had the first pick in 1950. That wasn't too long ago. And the only time they had the 2nd pick, he died before playing a game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Celtics_draft_history

The Cavs have three more #1's in the last four years than the Suns have in the history of the NBA.

If they finish 6th and win the lottery, it counts as protected.
