    Looking at Shea

Anyone look up stats on the average time it takes an AL batter to adjust to NL pitching?

They better try a different script when they go to Chicago!

    Does Kata make Spivey expendable?

Kata certainly looks like the real deal at second, but Spivey is also worth hanging on to... I still look for the D'backs to try Junior in RF, if not this year... over the winter and ST

    Jim Traber

Re: Most of the crew is respectable Unfortunate that younger listeners never got to hear Harry Caray in his prime! Granted, he suffered numerous memory lapses after his stroke, but his love for the game continued to shine through.... and he was much beloved in both St. Louis and Chicago for...

    All Good Things Must End

Don't expect the Giants to lend a hand.... That should've been the Cardinals job the last two nights, but their offense has gone into the dumpster as well....

    National media

Just like the old days in the 1950's/60's when CBS broadcast the Game of the Week.... you'd think that the ONLY team that ever mattered was the Yankees, since they were ALWAYS the chosen game... Standings don't matter to the national media.... It's all about ratings and $$, and the east coast...

    National media

Eastcoast Sports Promotional Network Hack reporter that hasn't done his homework on the D'backs. The idea that we are looking for pitching depth is totally wacked!!

    Gonzalez trade

I said much the same at the park tonight after Alex hit the bomb, and a longtime fan said that Alex wouldn't be eligible (like Spivey last year) because he had played with the team too much in previous years... Anyone know what the rule is on this?

    Gonzalez trade

Webb has to be considered untouchable at this point!

    Congrats to the DBacks

Whether the D'backs get within breathing distance of the NL West title is insignificant when the "kids" are playing great baseball.... but of course, if they continue to play the same brand of baseball they've displayed the past two weeks, getting into contention is a natural process. I'm...

    Mike Myers must go

They'll definitely be looking for takers.... now if the Giants or Dodgers woukld take him, THAT would be a HUGE plus!!! BB generally likes to give these guys 2nd and 3rd chances, but last night was probably the last straw. MM had been relegated to mop up duty to see if he could straighten...

You're the Diamondbacks GM, what do you do?

ha! fat chance! Would look for D'backs to move Mantei With Valverde showing that he's the real deal, and another highly regarded closer moved up from AA to Tucson.... Mantei isn't long for the team.

    curt for cy young?

1% chance is an optimistic view for THIS season... Curt will be focusing on getting back into form for this year... delusions of Cy Young trophy this year simply aren't realistic.

Randy Johnson: A DBack or a Mariner

Randy will be voted in as a pitcher. Then the HOF officials will work with Randy to decided which cap he wears. While they consider a player's desires, their main priority is to have a representative museum display... using the cap and logo that most accurately portrays the player. Randy...

Randy Johnson: A DBack or a Mariner

Astros would finish a really weak third since Randy didn't even pitch one complete season with them. Montreal would be even further back even though he began with them... D'backs should have edge on this, given historical record--the D'backs and their championships were all built around the...

    Hall of Fame: Who decides?

Winfield inspired the new policy by putting his cap up for bid... The HOF is justified in selecting the most historically significant cap... The other teams are all mentioned on the plaque anyway.

    Please explain this for me

A pitcher can earn a save by completing ALL three of the following items: 1. Finishes the game won by his team. 2. Does not receive the win. 3. Meets one of the following three items: a: Enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches at least one inning. b: Enters...

    Matt Williams is gone

Means he was put on the bench at home... and the D'backs had 10 days to trade him. Those days are up, so essentially Matt is no longer a D'back--he's a free agent and can go wherever he chooses (probably at league minimum). The D'backs are still obligated to pay him the remainder of his contract.

OT: Why do managers wear uniforms?

Old days many managers were player managers, so suppose the "tradition" just continued... Notable exception: Connie Mack
  23. moviegeekjn

Bud Seliq once again is ruining the tradition of baseball

Another DUMB decision.... The game is a frickin' exhibition game.... using generic uniforms removes much of the charm and tradition...... JUST dumb!!!!

BK not off to a good start in boston..

His first start was good quality, but the two relief appearances and yesterday's bad fifth inning (complete with 3 run homer) ballooned his Red Sox ERA. Still hoping BK will make the adjustment and pitch like he's capable of doing.
