    Mock Drafts Thread

I stopped reading right there. That's the kind of crap research I've come to expect from SI.

TE Stephen Spach, re-signed with Arizona.

I can't imagine him being ready by camp and the start of the season might even be a stretch. The start of the season would be roughly a nine month turnaround which is really tough for an ACL. I wouldn't be surprised to see him start the season on the PUP list or maybe he takes the Gabe Watson...

Best of the Rest: Post Combine FA's

Naw, he's kind of a decent at both without really being dominant at either.

    Kiper's latest,at #31

Wow, McFadden's already a bust? He did average 4.4 yards per rush and almost 10 yards a reception. He wasn't great but that's not a terrible rookie season by any means.

Best of the Rest: Post Combine FA's

I wouldn't forget about Marvel Smith or Kendall Simmons. Neither of them are listed on any top free agent lists but they've both got strong ties to Whiz and Grimm. Age and injuries are a concern but I've got to think that if they're willing to sign a short term deal for cheap, Whiz would want...

    Kiper's latest,at #31

You can add Rashard Mendenhall to that list as well. If you go further back you get names like Micheal Bennett, Ron Dayne, Curtis Enis and Tim Biakabutuka before you get to Eddie George in 1996. Those are all the Big Ten backs taken in the first round, not just cherry-picking the ones that fit...

:yeahthat: Plus is anyone else scared by the "big ten backs" thing. They haven't had just ton of success in recent years.

    Draft Thoughts

I don't think there are many options out there that fit that criteria. Here are your best options that have any experience in the return game: Jason Wright: He's about to be 27 and with only 159 career carries he might not even be a 'veteran.' He's returned 5 kickoffs in his career with poor...

Prisco Article: Calais Campbell is the Headliner.

If he's a 3-4 defensive end with 8 sacks, he'll instantly become the best DE in the league. We've got to remember that 3-4 defensive ends are not pass rushers, even on third downs. Five sacks for these kind of defensive ends is amazing, ten would be record setting. (And yes I know we're not a...

    Draft Thoughts

I'd take a run at either Warrick Dunn (first choice) b/c he'd be the perfect third down back and compliment to Hightower. He's the highest quality person as well and him and KW might just come up with a plan for world peace if they were on the same team. Second choice would be Dominic Rhodes...

    Draft Thoughts

First, great write-up. Here's my thoughts: - I think we'll still see a veteran running back brought in before the draft. We don't want Edge and he certainly doesn't want to be here. They'll sign another 30-something running back to take his spot, then draft a 1st or 2nd rounder to fill out the...

How about this kid as a return specialist?

Not to mention that I'm sure he lost some weight training for his Pro Day. I remember reading an article on DRC saying that he basically was at "track weight" for the combine and his pro day instead of "football weight."

Maybe some good Comp Pick News?

What a waste, the guy has already updated the post and dropped the 'prediction' down for us to a 7th round pick. Maybe that's how he gets them nearly all right. He just switches them up every couple of days.

How about this kid as a return specialist?

According to Wesley's season stats, he wasn't credited with a single tackle so I doubt he played on coverage units. At 5'10 167 (wow 167 is freakishly small) I'm not surprised though, but he caught 30 passes at a 19.9 per catch.

How about this kid as a return specialist?

From his pro day today: From Draft Scout: That's unbelievable. Too bad he's a WR and not a RB but if he's that good maybe he could be strictly a returner.

    Leach Signs with Cardinals

Yea Urban's blog just threw a wet blanket over any kind of free agent buzz.

    Travis LaBoy

My thoughts exactly (possible nickname: Mr. Glass). I agree with some that LaBoy has some promise but I'm unconvinced that he can be anything more than a situational pass rusher. He reminds me a scat back who's very effective with 5-10 touches a game but doesn't have the size or strength to...

What will be the perception of this team this upcoming season?

I'd be shocked if we're not the majority pick to win the West. Some guys who want to stand out will pick the Niners or Seahawks but the Cardinals have already retained the 'big name' guys that they needed to and they added McFadden plus whoever we end up drafting. Bottom line, is we should be...

    Peterson to the Falcons

I think best case scenario for Peterson here would have been to take Beisel's spot. Not sure about his ability to play special teams but he'd be a better option than Beisel if Dansby or Hayes were to go down and you need someone to step in and play more than a couple of games. If of course he...

    Cardinals' Draft & Trades

Aren't you sort of contradicting yourself when you say that we should keep Leinart because he's the future but we shouldn't consider a developmental guy b/c Whiz can't do that? Anyways Ben may not have liked Whiz's style but he can't argue with the results.

    Another Draft Possibility?

Not to toot my own horn, but that profile was originally plucked from my blog before it ended up on Fanster. We're going to try and profile around 50 or 60 draftable players before that fateful weekend in late April so if you're looking to be overloaded with useless draft info, check it out.

    LIAC's Revised 2009 Mock Draft

Hood would be a DE for Cardinals unless we're switching back to a 4-3 and Sidbury is borderline too small to play in 3-4. I'm also not sure why they'd draft another corner knowing that they absolute best that he can be is 4th on the depth chart. I'd much rather go after a safety that can push...

    Please Fo! Trade Boldin!

Who is the last player to actually sit out an entire season? I honestly can't remember it ever happening. His rep would be ruined around the league.
