    Diamondbacks vs Nationals

Chad!! Hmmm....maybe this HR thing works!! :O Chad comes through with a two-run homer to make it 3-2 Nats in the 7th.

    Diamondbacks vs Nationals

Other than Cruz & Tracy, our hitters have started trying to hit 5 run HRs every time at bat, and it is killing any chance of scoring for us; Gonzo may have got pinched on his ejection pitch, but did he forget how to look for inside pitches?? Glaus doesn't hit to RF anymore, and is trying to pull...

    Diamondbacks vs Pirates series thread

Ugh! Well, that series sucked... Not to be outdone by Valverde, Kerry Lightenburg showed some great BP pitching by giving up 7 runs in the 9th - - final score, 16-2 Pirates. I asked this on another board, but at what point do we start sending down some non-producers to Tucson, and bring...

    C L A R K !!!!! Glaus can't do it....Green can't do it....Clark does it AGAIN!!! Tony drives in the go-ahead run to make it 3-2 D'backs!

What Baseball Video Game Do You Play?

MVP 2005; I might give ESPN's game a try because their NFL & NHL games were pretty good.

   WTF is up with Bruney?? Great one day, crappy the next - - oh yeah, that describes our bullpen in general! 8-3 lead is now 8-6, with the tying run at the plate in the 8th.

Who Is Fed Up With Clayton

I would move Clayton down to #7 or 8 in the order & platoon Counsell/Cintron at 2nd; however, right now I would play Cintron every day.

As I was getting ready to comment about giving up a walk with an 8-1 lead, Garcia takes Estes deep to LF; D'Backs lead 8-3 in the 7th.

Gosling relieves Koplove, and promptly gives the Nats two more runs....7-3 Washington.

Nice irony - - Patterson shuts us down, while the pitcher we got in return for him melts down!! 'Lefty specialist' my a**!! Choate is no better than Mike Myers was at getting out LH batters!!

    Diamondbacks/Rockies series thread

Mr. GIDP was Mr. Clutch tonight - Clayton showed patience along with some pop at the plate tonight; okay, so his getting picked off of first was a downer, but Royce provided solid offense & defense tonight. Webb ended up throwing 94 pitches over 8 innings, giving up 2 ER - if we could get...

what do you think after one week?

I think this club can compete for the division....IF we can shore up our bullpen, namely middle relief. Lyon is two for three in save chances, and it's too early to cast him aside; however, if we can't find a way to get to the closer, it doesn't matter who we stick in the closer role! Our...

If tonight is any indication, this is going to be a fun team to watch!! I loved it when Glaus scored in the 4th, sliding toward the inside of home plate where the catcher was, pissing off the Cubs' catcher Barrett. That's it, boys - take no prisoners!!

Other than the hanging curveball to Hollinsworth, I thought Ortiz pitched a great game tonight. Koplove looked great in the 7th, but unraveled a bit in his second inning of work; Lyon picked up the pieces rather nicely. Now let's see the mighty Webb sinker at work tomorrow night, and take the...

    Vazquez has debut to forget

If it's any consolation to Vasquez & D'Back fans, John Smoltz did exactly what Javier did on Opening Day - 7 ER in 1 2/3 innings for Atlanta in their season opener.

Okay, so we won't go 162-0 this season... Let's root for Russ Ortiz to get back to his old form and have a great season, starting tonight!! *rah rah rah*

    Mondays game

    1. I thought the 3-1 pitch was a great time to hit & run with Clayton, but it's nice seeing some patience at the plate; the runners should have been going on 3-2. 2. Clark came in for Gosling in the 4th with two out, two on; hard to fault Melvin for trying to produce some runs. 3. The...

I actually feel pretty good about the club, despite the blowout; I just hope Vasquez finds that third pitch before his next outing, or it's going to be another long season for all of us. One game or not, we need a lot of quality innings from Vasquez to get us in the hunt, and this couldn't have...

Vazquez ready to take over for Unit

ESPN's announcers agree with you - they point to the lack of curveball today by Vasquez that indicate some sort of elbow trouble; all I know is that I've watched him crush the D'Backs with a curveball in the past, and I didn't see one today....oh, I guess he actually did crush the D'Backs again!

On the bright side, we are winning 3-2 since Vasquez left....well, that is until Aquino gave up a 3 run HR to Derrick Lee. 12-3, Cubs with nobody out in the 6th. S**t!!

Gonzo lays a bunt down the line to take advantage of the infield shift, and Q scores from 3rd to make it 7-2. Gosling comes in the 4th inning and promptly gives up two base hits; Ramirez hits into a DP but drives in a run to make it 8-2 Cubs. ..sigh..
