Pick me a Premier League club to follow

Ha! It was sort of by design. I'm like Mulli -- one of the deciding factors was coverage. Also, there's a very larger Gooner fanbase in the states, and there's a local chapter here that actually has a pub that lets them gather during the non-drinking game hours. I thought that was amazing. Been...

New injury updates on Len, Gortat and Lee

Depends upon which king your served. To be sure, I was just razzing you over my own petty, private war with the modern English language. Sanguine has origins in bloodletting. It's meant to describe someone as "flush" or "blood-red." It led to a host of wonderfully awful medical descriptors...

BBC: Arsenal to spend 100 gazillion on Martians. Or possibly just 100 million on Spaniards. YMMV. Also, great game. Defensive communication is a mess, looks to me.

New injury updates on Len, Gortat and Lee

As a wanna-be etymologist, your use of the word 'sanguine' makes me want to stab someone in the eye. A disapproving look will have to suffice. Don't buy into the hype. The French had it right. Stupid Brits had to go and ruin it. I think a lot of us are too quick to judge Len. In fact, I think...

    Breaking Bad (AMC)

I thought the episode was substantial. Kind of silly the didn't figure out a way to get Walt Jr. staring into a cereal bowl one more time.

No. It just comes naturally. :D Sorry, man. Sometimes I get a little full of myself and just spout off on a message board without reading what people have already written.. That's what makes me so unique on the Interwebs.

I'm learning this, and I think the NFL almost headed that direction in the 80s/90s where four teams were the only ones who could count on a championship and the rest of the league were (metaphorically) relegated to mostly misery. The biggest change, IMO, was NFLPA understanding that parity =...

    Longmire (Netflix)

Yeah, me, too. It's why I resisted watching this show at first. The world didn't need another Law & Order/CSI/NCIS/XYZ show. This one pays homage to those while turning it on its head. It sort of reinvents that whole genre without breaking all the rules.

    Longmire (Netflix)

This is actually a critical theme to the books and the show: The encroachment of modern darkness on the U.S. West. And it really is happening. It's good timing, with the boom of natural gas in that region bringing in tens of thousands of roughnecks into the region, lots of them landing jobs...

Any guesses why Arsenal aren't getting in on the Mamadou Sakho action?

Pick me a Premier League club to follow

Exactly. I grew up being held emotional hostage by ASU football and Suns basketball. I did not get caught up in the very technical aspects of those sports until later, nor would I have if I had not suffered as a young fan trying to understand why my otherwise amazing teams did not live up to my...

Pick me a Premier League club to follow

I find it hard to follow sports when there's no relationship to the team. I guess I do that with American football, but I'm the most dispassionate football fan I've ever known. I don't have the same quasi-scientific love affair with soccer. I think the culture is more appealing to me than the...

ASU snags Rivals #1 Recruit in Oregon; #7 Strong Side D End

He's a get-it-done kind of player. Not terribly flashy, but more athletic and probably ready to contribute than most DEs in his class. I think is ceiling is lower than his status suggests, but I like him a lot. He seems like a very bright guy who pays attention to details and doesn't beat himself.

The angst, the fury, the devastation, the incredulity of management, the sensation of being so close yet so far away ... It's so familiar. I'm really feeling connected to this team. I may have found a home. Hmmmm.

OT: Nikola Pekovic gets 5yr/$60Mil deal

It's not the same comparing NBA basketball players to, say, two plumbers, or two lawyers. I think 29 is much older than 27 in basketball, especially when it comes to low-post players.

God bless the British. People are upset the Suarez deal isn't done. There's so much symmetry there.
