Lakers in 5, the Jazz are going to be good for one win at home. Carlos Boozer isnt playing that good, Mehmet Okur is hurt..it doesn't look good for the Utah Jazz.

Lakers shoot 66% in the first half and take a 22 point lead into the locker room. Nothing like a close game huh? :D

Odom and Shannon Brown were huge off the Bench. How is a team like the Jazz so bad on the road? It's not like they are a bad team, but man they are abysmal on the road.

Jazz need to find a pulse.
The Jazz have allowed at least 30 points in the first two quarters.

I gotta give the Jazz some credit, they turned a laugher into a close game for a bit, cutting the lead all the way down to 9pts on several occasions. Their defense in the 3rd quarter was fantastic. It never really felt like they had a shot to win, but they might make a tough series of it.

Good grief, can the Jazz pretend to guard the paint?

Jazz put up a hell of a fight tonight, but looks like they'll fall a little short.

If LA keeps playing defense like this then the Cavaliers can begin clearing a space for that championship trophy. The Lakers defense sucks.

Meh. I don't worry about the Cavs at all. They can't handle Bynum and Pao..not one bit.

Utah is a rough, scrappy team that we have always had issues against. They won 48 games, yet are an "8 seed." They are the 7th highest scoring team in the league. Yet the Lakers look like they are coasting right now. Very sloppy and need to tighten it up, but they will.

I'm terrified we might have to face Portland though. For whatever reason, we struggle against them in LA, and can't beat them in Portland. That's an upset in the making...I'm cheering HARD for Houston.

Couldn't agree more. I have never rooted for the Rockets this hard in my life. Portland is a team I don't want any of.

You're probably right about Utah and the Laker defense, and I don't think the Cavs can handle the Bynum/Gasol/Odom situation either.

I for one am glad the Suns missed the playoffs; seeing them get throttled by the Lakers in 4 or 5 games would have been torture.

Lakers down 17-26 after the 1st quarter. Lakers shooting an appalling 26%, Jazz 50% after the 1st quarter.

This meltdown by the Jazz is shameful.

Outscored 29-8 at home.

Wow.. what a turn around. I was expecting a wire to wire 2nd half. We'll see if the Jazz can get back in it, they have put up some pretty good runs over the last 3 games, they're not done by any means.

The Jazz right now just look like they spent all their effort in the 1st half.

Great win. Tough Jazz team, man. I really want to get the split here...Utah is brutal to play in. It's kind of ridiculous how good their record is at home vs. on the road.

The Lakers, however, need to be slapped in the mouth a bit and get bloodied up because they seem to be waaaaay too relaxed at this point.

This one got away from the Lakers, just like games 3 and 4 last year in the second round got away from them.

And damn, but many of those fouls on Bynum were horrible calls. Poor kid. He's still not ready...he needs court time though to get prepped for a hopeful Finals run.

Atrocious night from Kobe tonight...blech. Boozer was ridiculous too. We let Utah play Utah basketball.

While it sucks to watch your team lose a game in the playoffs, it's hard not to have respect for such a great effort by Carlos Boozer. I'm not a Jazz fan but I do like Boozer and had to laugh this year when people doubted his ability. He was a monster today and Utah deserved that win. Going to Kobe for the game winner when he was that cold was not a smart move.

Good game by Utah, they're back in the series, but I still don't think it looks good for them. Kobe had the worst game he's had in years and they still won by 2 points. The Lakers won't play that bad again, so the Jazz better continue to improve if they want to climb back in it.

Lakers in 5.

I agree, to a point. Deron was ice cold tonight too, but hit the game winner.

And I think it is clear how much I love Ariza, but that was just a TERRIBLE in bounds pass. You could see where Kobe wanted to catch that ball, his trailing foot stayed there for a long time...he ended up about 7 feet behind where he wanted that ball to shoot. Horrible inbounds pass, and equally horrid shot by a cold Kobe.

I was hoping they would run a play for Ariza there though, screen to free Kobe and then go to someone else, back to Trevor for the three.

Would have been a good play to run, IMO. Oh well...on to the next one.

Can't say enough about what a job Brewer did on Kobe tonight. He was very pesky and didn't make many mistakes.

I'm not a boozer fan or anything, but he was nothing short of awesome tonight. That spin move and dunk over pau late in the game was amazing. Deron didn't have a whole lot, but he made the one that counted the most. I thought the lakers should have tried to free up pau somehow for that game winner, even if it was a mid-range jump shot. He is too tall for boozer to guard, so he probably would have had a clean look at the rim. But oh well, the series just got interesting.
