I'd drop DwW into the 10-20 list for sure; didn't see tAoJJ.
I'd have to have Tombstone, Unforgiven, Magnificent Seven on my top ten list.

And although it wasn't a movie, the miniseries Lonesome Dove is my #1 all-time top Western.

Hondo's a great movie, but it was actually filmed for 3D, and it takes something away from the film. I'm not a fan of 3D gimmicks.

It was shown in 3-D on TV in 1991 after being restored by the Duke's son, Michael. 3-D glasses were available at 7-11 and proceeds went to charity.
Gosh, that was an event! I still have the glasses tucked in a drawer.

Absolute, total classic. Seen in 3-D or not. "Quit blockin' the door!!"

Holy moly. If you asked me if they had 3D technology back in 1953 I would have said NO FREAKING WAY!

The earliest confirmed 3-D film shown to a paying audience was The Power of Love, which premiered at the Ambassador Hotel Theater in Los Angeles on
September 27, 1922

Um, have you even SEEN a 3D film prior to 2009?? ;)
I remember watching some western when I was real young (early 1980s?) with it being my first 3d movie. Don't remember the name, but I remember a scene where the cowboy and the indian are fighting on the ground, and one of them goes flying right towards the camera. It was cool. It was around when the VCR was the big whoopty.
After that it was Jaws 3D, than the Superbowl halftime show, don't recall what year that was. That about sums up my 3D history, until its recent take over.

Shouldn't be on the list, but I always liked 'Hombre'. Was always a Richard Boone fan

Me or the movie? :D
By any chance were you named after this film?

The only reason I say this is that my wife wanted to name our last child Shane if it was a boy because she loved that name because of the movie.

Instead, we had a girl...

Um.....sorta kinda, but not really, no.

Cat Ballou starred Jane Fonda.

Demi Moore's character in G.I. Jane was named Jordan

We named our daughter Jordan after that character. And we didn't really like the movie all that much, just the name.

I didn't mind the movie so much. The best part though was the music, notably "Goodbye" from the Pretenders. I like the name Jordan but off the top of my head I can't come up with a good western involving that name. Maybe she'll excel at shooting (basketballs).
