$100 preseason bet on Super Bowl could win $10,000

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. - Page Long admits he made sucker's bet. But he soon may be $10,000 richer, thanks to his faith in the Carolina Panthers.

Long lives in North Carolina and is a gate supervisor for US Airways. Last summer, while visiting Las Vegas, Long's sister-in-law, Lori Hunt placed a $100 bet for him that the Panthers would win the Super Bowl.

Before the season started, the odds were 100-to-1.

Hunt says the people at the Luxor Hotel sports book tried to convince her not to throw the money away. But she placed the bet just as Long wanted.

Hunt says she felt really dumb as the people at the casino were laughing at her.

But if the underdog Panthers beat the New England Patriots Sunday, it will be Hunt and Long who have the last laugh.

That is why I asked what the Cards line was, I think LVCard said it was 200-1. I am going to Vegas at the end of Feb and for ***** and giggles Im gonna throw 50 bucks..What would that be 10,000?

depends where you look. Some casinos have 250-1 others have 180-1. Either way you could stand to win some $$$$$

i actually received 300-1 last year. fat lotta good it did. and the 75-1 $50 i threw down on cleveland really helped too! damnit, why didn't i pick carolina, why?!?
