It's less than 1 KB so that's not the problem. Anyways the board told me "You may not upload animated images."

Also, maybe in moderator land you can have 19.5 KB, but regular users can only have 10.7 KB.
Maybe you need to reach to 10,000 post plataeu--I'm not a mod, but I'm able to upload animated gifs.

I was considering altering my avatar to the 100x100 animated gif:
You must be registered for see images attach

but the site wouldn't let me.

Ignoring the fact that the image might cause seizures, has there been some change in policy? I had an animated dog as an avatar a year or two ago. Other users (e.g. BIM) have animated avatars.

you now need to be a "superior" to have an animated Avatar. I mean Moderator...

The old board allowed animated gif's as avatars, I am sure that was when you had yours. I would type more but I am starting to convulse.

The abililty to upload animated avatars is now restored for folks with 1000 posts or more. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I wonder if restricting new users from getting avatars isn't too big of a hassle. Seems like there have been a lot of "How can I get an avatar" threads started lately.

Having some noob just register, but up an avatar and never post is a waste of server space

IMO creating milestones actually makes membership more alluring.

I see that a lot of people take pride in their post counts. Make all the jokes you want but its true.

I know the management of this board doesn't want to be unfriendly, but if I ran a board like this I wouldn't let newbies start threads right away. For every Lebron James poster that can start quality threads right off the bat, there are 25 Leon Smiths out there.

That's actually not a bad idea.

I would love if they restricted new users for both Avatars and Signatures until they reach a certain level.
