As the countdown to heading down Magnolia Lane continues, Golfweek is taking a look back at some Masters history through the years.

Today, it's time to examine the 2009 Masters and the significant milestones that occurred at Augusta National Golf Club that year.

Who won the 2009 Masters?​


Angel Cabrera, from Argentina, became the first South American Masters champion by defeating Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell in the tournament’s first three-man playoff since 1987. He won on the second playoff hole, No. 10, with a par. Campbell made bogey on the first playoff hole, and Perry lost on the second playoff hole with a bogey.

Augusta National course changes in 2009​


No. 1: Back of tee reduced seven yards. Tee marker relocated and Masters scorecard changed to 445.

No. 7: An additional 10 yards was added to the front of the Masters tees without necessitating a change inlength to the hole.

No. 15: Eight to nine yards added to front of the Masters tees. No change to yardage.

Who won the 2009 Masters Par 3 Contest?​


Tim Clark won his only Par 3 Contest, shooting 5-under 22.
