As the countdown to heading down Magnolia Lane continues, Golfweek is taking a look back at some Masters history through the years.
Today, it's time to examine the 2006 Masters and the significant milestones that occurred at Augusta National Golf Club that year.
Phil Mickelson won his second Masters title in three years. It was the third win by a lefty in four years at Augusta National after never having any beforehand. Two-time champ Jose Maria Olazabal shot 66 in the final round to get within three shots of Mickelson, but Lefty posted a 3-under 69 in the final round to secure his second green jacket.

No. 4: Masters tees moved back 30-35 yards.
No. 7: Masters tees moved back 35-40 yards. Green re-grassed to create possible right-rear pin position.Trees added to the right and left side of the fairway.
No. 11: Masters tees moved back 10-15 yards. Trees added to the right side of the fairway and fairway shiftedto the left.
No. 15: Masters tees moved back 25-30 yards and shifted approximately 20 yards to the golfer’s left

Ben Crane won his only Par 3 Contest, shooting 4-under 23.
