Don't they need him for the Denver game so we don't lose our only decent FB to injury?

In a van...down by the river.
On a side note, defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin was fined by the NFL $21,000 for hitting a defenseless player in the head/neck area, in this case, Raiders quarterback Matt Leinart. It’s a hefty sum for a guy who has yet to collect anything more than a practice squad paycheck in the league.
That sucks. I wonder what a practice squad paycheck looks like?

It depends on the year and the player (practice squad guys can negotiate their own deals to a certain amount). According to the internet, in 2011 practice squad players received a minimum of $5,700 per week. That adds up to $96,900 over a 17-week season before taxes and agent's cut, etc.

Hopefully some of his more well-heeled unit mates came together to help out the kid.

Not Marshay Green! Noooooo!!!!

-Duckjake.

The handwriting was on the wall last season. Great kid. Wasn't afraid to hit anybody. Just too small for the NFL. He got beat with good coverage last year because taller WRs were catching balls Marshay wasn't tall enough to knock away. There are other bigger guys on the team now who can do the same things he could.

Fwiw: Jay Feeley said on Twitter that fines only count if you make the roster. Ricky Lumpkin is okay.

I mean, other than being cut.

Young...Young...

Nope, I don't see his name on the list. Must be some mistake.
They won't cut him. They'll to keep him on the roster so they can play him when they want to set up Skelton to look bad ;).

A little surprised to see Cohen, Green, Jaymar Johnson, and even Zack Nash (who really couldn't get it going after an early injury) in the first round of cuts, but no one on the list I thought would make the final 53 - so nothing earth shattering here.

The only surprise to me was to see Landon Cohen go this early. I expected Everrette Thompson to be the first D-lineman to go. I also thought that Mauia wouldn't be cut until after the last preseason game to give Sherman a break, but when you think about it. The Cards are probably going to use Steve Skelton and Jim Dray as fullbacks in the last game to see which one they like better for blocking.
