BLIZZARD & SMITH EARN
ALL-NFL EUROPE HONORS
The NFL Europe League today announced its annual awards and Arizona Cardinals tight end BOBBY BLIZZARD and defensive end ANTONIO SMITH were selected to the 2005 all-NFL Europe team. Both spent the season with the Hamburg Sea Devils
The Cardinals were one of just four NFL teams to place two players on this year’s all-league squad. Denver, Seattle and Tampa Bay were the others.
Blizzard started all 10 games for Hamburg and finished with 34 receptions for 335 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Smith started nine of the 10 games in which he appeared for the Sea Devils and recorded 6.0 sacks along with 37 tackles and a forced fumble.
The 2005 NFL Europe season will conclude this Saturday when the Amsterdam Admirals take on the Berlin Thunder in World Bowl XIII at the LTU Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. Cardinals safety ADRIAN MAYES will be in action for Berlin.
The World Bowl will be televised nationally on FOX with Curt Menefee and Brian Baldinger calling the action. It can be seen live in Phoenix on Fox 10 beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
