there seem to be 2 opposite schools of thought on the cardinals..and it is interesting who is taking each positions.
1. Pro Emmitt signing crowd..who for the most part think the cardinals are moving forward by signing emmitt, jackson, blake, etc. etc. Not a playoff team now..but things are changing at the front office and the cardinals have at least gotten up off the bottom of the NFL scrap heap and are trying to win. In this group: majority of posters on this board and the local media in phoenix. Even usual bashers like bickley and gambo seem to think things are slowly changing and like the recent signings. Most of the sports radio and newspaper writers (except for scott burdow of the tribune) thinks things are improving..even some former big time naysayers..
2. Opposite view: emmitt sucks, same old cardinals, ownership does not want to win, etc.etc... In this camp appear to be national sportswriters and many local callers to sports talk radio. Personally, I think the national sportswriters are somewhat misinformed - most of them have rarely seen the cards play, make comments like our oline is awful and they think jake plummer is the greatest qb of all time..
Interesting...seems the most informed people think things are improving..
On another note..I think if you asked people who the best player was on the cardinals..the answer was david boston. This troubled the coaches and ownership staff greatly...he was regarded as our marquee player - and he possibly had the worst attitude on the team.. I think part of what you are seeing is an extreme effort to fix problems like this..not that I would have handled it this way..but it appears to me that we are trying to get some leaders first.. Again..this is speculation on my part..it is worth what you are paying for it
