This is my first and probably last 2 round mock. I added a couple of wrinkles. I have KC taking Crabtree since their new HC is offense oriented and I can't see Pioli paying that much money to a linebacker. I also have the Jets trading with the Packers in the first round with GB getting the Jets second. Your thoughts and critiques are welcome.

Thanks for the mock. There have been a lot of whispers lately about teams being more interested in taking a RB in the first than a lot of us previously thought. New Orleans, San Diego, Cleveland, Seattle, and a few others are now interested in taking a RB in round 1.

Also, interesting pick with Crabtree going to K.C. It gives them a AZ light with Matt C., Crabtree, and Bowe.

Nice job, these are lots of work. I think all Card fans should be satisfied if we got both OLB/DE's English and Cody Brown on the first two rounds. Our defense would certainly be improved.

I have been a huge advocate throughout the whole draft speculation of drafting a RB in the 1st round or trading up in the 2nd. I have just been watching a lot of tape of Javon Ringer and really like him. I would now be more than satisfied with doing defense with picks 31 and 63 and going for Ringer in the 3rd round.

Ringer should be there in the 3rd round. He had a great pro day workout.

Michigan State Pro day: Michigan State running back Javon Ringer has received very little publicity from the media throughout the draft process due in large part to rehabbing an injured knee. Now Ringer is like a man smoking at a gas station, about to blow up, after a sterling performance at the school's pro day March 18. According to a source with knowledge of the pro day, the running back absolutely blew NFL teams away with his workout. The 5-foot-9, 203-pound Ringer ran a 4.42 in the 40-yard dash; posted a 6.68 in the 3-cone drill, which would be the fourth fasted time in combine history for running backs. He ran a 3.72 in the 20-yard shuttle and 10.6 in the 60-yard shuttle. One NFL scout in attendance said that in his 20-years of scouting he had never seen anyone run the 3-cone as fast as Ringer, a Chaminade Julienne graduate. It was a tremendous day all around for the nation's fourth leading rusher (1,637 yards and 22 touchdowns). Ringer showed his versatility by catching every ball thrown his way during receiving drills and looked natural doing so. He impressed scouts during agility drills with his quickness, change of direction and work ethic. - Carlos Holmes, Dayton Daily News

A lot of logical picks. Wouldn't be mad at those two picks at all.

No complaints from me.

Two OLBs/DEs with the first two picks would be a mistake IMO. We still have interior line depth as an issue. I would switch out English and put in Alex Mack in your mock.

The whole Cutler debacle is really going to have an effect on the outcome of the draft. I should have know something like this would happen 10 min after I post my mock...lol

It shouldn't affect the 1st round a lot, especially where we are.

Oh yeah , you had the trade already worked out...lol.

I agree that we need to add some depth to the center position but I don't think it's necessary to draft one in the first round. Whiz has said he thinks Sendelein will develop into a"very good player". As for taking OLB/DE in the first 2 rounds, my take is that there are a lot of teams looking for OLB/DE this year and I want to make sure we take advantage of the talent available. These 2 guys can get to the QB and would greatly improve our pass rush, plus they would really help out our special teams.

Although I agree that we could use some help in the interior of our line, I would be livid if we drafted Mack with our first pick. He is a good player don't get me wrong, but a pass rusher is a far greater need IMO.

Can Ringer return kickoffs?
