The first round of the 2025 NFL draft took place on Thursday night, and the Chicago Bears used their 10th overall selection to select tight end Colston Loveland out of Michigan. Loveland's selection brings in another receiving threat at the tight end position alongside Cole Kmet in new head coach Ben Johnson's offense which thrives in 12-man personnel.

Coming out of the first round, the biggest storyline is that Colorado quarterback Shadeur Sanders, one of the most polarizing players in this year's class, is still on the board. While there was plenty talk about quarterback needy teams in the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers all being a possible destination for Sanders, none of them took him in the first round.

Following the first round, there is plenty of high-end talent available in Day 2. Here's a look at the top players available heading into Friday with the second and third rounds on deck:

1. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

The quarterback who had a roller coaster of a first night will be the biggest topic of conversation on Day 2. Outside of the New York Giants, the other aforementioned teams did not address the quarterback position, so they'll either look to add Sanders or may have other plans with a different player at the position.

2. Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

One of many talented edge rushers who fell into the second round, Green will make any team happy that selects him. Much like Sanders, Green was projected to go in the first round after good performances in the Senior Bowl and scouting combine, but teams looking for pass rushing help on Day 2 should hope to have their chance at him.

3. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Sliding due to concerns over a knee injury, Johnson originally was thought to be a high pick in the first round but the injury concern is real. If he can get healthy and remain healthy, whichever team grabs him on Day 2 will be very happy he slid to them.

4. Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

The player who lit up the combine with an all-time performance, there are not many safeties in this year's class with a high-round pick, but Emmanwori should come off the board quickly in the second round.

5. Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

Another player who had seen his name across the first round in mock drafts, Burden is one of the biggest surprises to fall to Day 2. There is likely a big run coming at wide receiver and he should be the first one selected.

6. Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College

After a busy first round that saw offensive and defensive line players aplenty, Ezeiruaku should be in consideration for the first edge rusher to be drafted in the second round.

7. Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA

Early in the draft process Schwesinger was thought to be a mid-round pick, but with the linebacker class not as deep as other positions, Schwesinger is the top available player at his position.

8. Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State

Not only is there expected to be a run at wide receiver, but running backs should see a run as well. Judkins and his college teammate are two players who could've gone in the first round but will wait until Friday to hear their name.

9. TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State

One of the most interesting prospects at the position because of his ability to be a dual-threat, Henderson could see himself go right before, or after, his fellow Buckeye running back.

10. Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

Depending on what happens with Will Johnson's slide, Amos could find himself as the top corner taken on Day 2. He's got great size and the potential to build up to being a top cornerback at the NFL level.

11. Landon Jackson, EDGE, Arkansas

With so much attention on the trenches in this year's draft, Jackson fits right in as a quarterback's nightmare. He totaled 13 sacks over the past two seasons for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

12. Mason Taylor, TE, LSU

After Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren were selected in the first round, Mason Taylor, son of NFL Hall Of Famer Jason Taylor, is the best tight end available.

13. Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M

Another pass rusher who could've heard his name in the first round, Scourton has versatility to be a fit in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense in the NFL.

14. Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa

One of several running backs expected to go on Day 2, Kaleb Johnson is quite an intriguing prospect. He's a powerful runner with surprising speed and could be seen as a dark horse in the running back class.

15. Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State

A major target at 6'4" and 215 pounds, Higgins is a reliable pass-catcher who may not take the top off defenses, but should be a consistent target wherever he lands.

16. Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

Coming off a torn ACL he suffered this past season, Revel has first round talent, but he'll have to recover completely coming into his rookie year.

17. Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami (FL)

There are not many talented tight ends left at the top of the draft, but Arroyo is one that should be taken on Day 2. A pass-catching threat who needs to improve as a blocker, Arroyo will help a team looking for a receiving tight end.

18. Darius Alexander, DL, Toledo

One of the older prospects in this year's class, Alexander will enter the NFL at 25-years old. He's got a ton of strength and could find himself as a productive rotational player on the defensive line.

19. Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

Milroe has got blazing speed and is arguably the most athletic quarterback in this class. He'll benefit from getting a chance to sit and learn, but there are still multiple teams who need to address the quarterback position.

20. Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame

A ball-hawk safety who will make the team who selects him very happy, Watts has great football IQ and knows how to find the football.
