Nice article Walter.Hoping KVB can come back and maybe be part of the suggested rotation.Russell Davis seems like backup DT at best.CB has got to be upgraded via FA or Draft.Overall pretty good article.Looking forward to the offense write-up.

Love reading your posts Walter..
we definetly need to spend big money to upgrade DE/CB.. those are a must.. I think Bell and Bryant will be solid in the middle with King/Davis in rotation.. I think Pace and Johnson will be big improvement with the off-season training program the Green has installed . I think I Lb's are set and are very fast...iThis will be good when DG decideds to implement the 3-4 schemes. Our CB's are average at best.. I hope Starks and prove his quiality under Green and also bring in a top =tier FA, with Barret and Hill to backup... Wilson/Jackson are set to possible be one of the best set of Safeties in the league..

Keep up the posts Wlater.. looking forward to Offense

I still don't believe that we sign Barrett. I think he will be asking for to much money. Similar to Mr Jenkins last year.

Here is the scoop on Barrett.

We tried to re-sign him early but he wanted "Duane Starks money", meaning $4 mill per year. So Graves and Barrett's agent agreed to disagree but the lines of communication are still open.

With all the good CBs on the market this year and with a strong CB draft class, Barrett probably won't get what he is asking.

Once David brings his demands down to $2 mill per year, he might yet end up being a Cardinal.

Solid scoop people. This is the Cards position on Barrett.

But! The team will still upgrade the CB position with another FA and/or a draft pick or both.

Unless Denny Green sways Rod Graves, upgrading the CB position is a team priority.

I hope that you are wrong!!! He is one of the worst CB's in the NFL. He plays off the person who he is to cover. Damn he really sucks guy's. Sorry Skorp. Even Me at 57 could catch a ball on him if he was to play me off that far!!!

I've tended to be on Barrett's case quite a bit this last year. '

I have always felt, that at best, he just can't be a top level CB in this league. There are just getting to be too many big/tall WR's in the league and he simply lacks the height to counter that.

I've always said he is a great nickel. or secondary back, but that's ceiling, as I see it. He has shown he can be a physical player if he wants too, but this year, he reiminded me very much of Kwamie the previous year....just didn't seem to "wanna".

Then he got Martay-itis, and appeared to be contracting a Thomas Jones "poor me" type" attitude to make things even worse.

Maybe if he ever decides to extract his head from his rear-end he could start improving again instead of sliding downhill.

I just don't see him very likely to get resigned, unless he falls completely flat on his face in free agency and then signs here for A LOT less than he's been demanding. Although...so far the indications seem to point to his ego dragging his butt a little farther into the boonies and I would guess pull a Jamir Miller, signing somewhere else for even less, rather than eat crow here.

This is why we love ya Jim. You've got the most level-head of any of the so-called "insiders" and you tell it like it is.

uhm... and the very next post...

....

I'm HOPING that D Green will install the DESIRE that is a big part of what makes a winning org.
That means i believe we have a couple players that just need to rise to their capabilities...
