This is just something I keep track of each year to help me with the 'who's who' during games and mostly because other football sites are just plain useless at this stuff (when it comes to the Cardinals).

It doesn't take into account injurys. But it keeps track of who is at each postion and the starters on each side of the ball. If someone spots an error, just let me know.

Moses took the opening kickoff of the first regular season game back for a TD, he was the fastest guy on the roster

TE in the 1st round and LG in FA next year.

Starting LBs (Dansby excluded) are a little weak also, but Blackstock and Mitchell will start by next season.

As long as we're looking into the future for next year's hole plugging (that's not as dirty as it sounds), what about a QB? We passed on Leftwich, we passed on Roethlisberger, we passed on a number of guys this year (Rogers, Frye, Orton, Lafors, etc...) ...how long can we afford to do that?

Warner IS getting old...he may be able to play next year, but what about the future? I say we draft a guy in rd. 1 or 2 next year and let him sit for a year, playing spot duty in order to groom him for a starting role in 2007.

Might that not be McCown ?

I certainly don't think so. And, if Green thought so, why wouldn't he be playing? Why wouldn't he have kept his job? Why wouldn't he have gotten it back last year on merit instead of injury? No, I don't think McCown has a promising future with the Cardinals.

2006 Draft Notes

First of all, we don't know where we're going to finish and, therefore, can't have a clue as to who will be available when we pick next spring.

2. Mike Mayock says the draft is (pardon the pun) heavy in offensive tackles -with three possibly going in the top 10.

3. The dude who got my attention (in terms of team need) is the 318 - 330 lb. defensive tackle from Michigan

4. I agree we probably should address the issue of an eventual replacement for Warner; but this needn't necessarily be via the draft.

5. But what's need got to do with anything - Dennis and Rod will pick the best available player where we draft (and who has any shred of an idea whom that might be).

Neither do I.

If Warner manages to make it though the season without getting benched I think he will have done well enough to get us to the playoffs, and warrant a second season. If we end up in a position like Green bay did with Rogers , I would pull the trigger on a low 1st / high 2nd round QB.

We are in a rut though, because if Warner sucks and we get another high pick, we still need to bring in another Vet QB to try and take advantage of the personell we already have in place. I'd hate to do all this work putting a team together, only to hand it over to some rookie.

Another possibility is that Green might be more impressed with Navare then he lets on. I have a feeling that McCown and Navarre are actually sharing the #2 slot behind Warner, and that Josh would be on a VERY short leash if he has to make a start.
