With about less that two weeks to go until opening day and a spring training record of about .500, with the moves the Diamondbacks made does anybody think we'll make the playoffs? I hope I wrong but I realistically believe the Dbacks will finish third in the NL West.

Yep - seems about right to me, too. As long as its watchable baseball, hitting .500 will be fine for this year.

I also predict (no-brainer, this) we will lead the NL in walks issued, but we will NOT lead in lowest walks taken/lowest OBP, nor in most errors.

Spring training records, for the most part, don't mean diddly squat.... Let the team gel through April, then let's make some predictions....

My 2005 DBack predictions:

1. Somewhere in between 70-80 wins
2. Highest walk total in NL
3. Russ Ortiz's ERA will be above 4.50
4. The biggest story of the season will be where Vazquez is going at the deadline
5. Either Glaus, Green, or Gonzo will miss significant time
6. Pitching coach will be fired at some point during or after the season

1. Above .500, but out of the playoff race.
2. Bullpen struggles with health.
3. Vazquez and Webb pitch well for the team, Ortiz does decent.
4. Estes flops, loses rotation spot half way through the season.
5. Vazquez decides to stay.
6. Luis Gonzalez gets traded at the deadline. :shocker:

I say around 85-77 record. Look for Quentin to be called up mid-seaon once Gonzo goes down... Mark my words! :)

Then Clayton will be benched for Alex Cintron over a long period of time, and Cintron will bat around .270.

This season could be intresting. Bonds and the Giants could fall flat on their faces. San Diego should win the West, but they're young and could make some mistakes when it comes to it.
