I like Dansby and Hayes but Huff NEEDS to go.

Who are the top LBs in the draft this year? The only one I'm familiar with is Posluszny from Penn State.

Who's going to be available in FA?

If Rivera is our next HC, then Briggs will be coming. He is a solid tackler and awesome in coverage.

Brandon Siler (Fla) is the best linebacker in college football hands down. We have more pressing needs then a LB in the 1st round but he will make a great pro.

The kid from Wake Forest is solid as well. Can't think of his name but he's a very good MLB

Lawrence Timmons and Earl Everett are someone attainable in the second. Timmons is what Willie Williams should have been and with the success of FSU linebackers (I still remember the heat I got for bigging up Ernie Sims), he'd be a good fit outside.

There are plenty ILBs that are good like Brandon Siler, Desmond Bishop, Justin Warren, etc. that I really like that are attainable.

I think CB is our greatest need.............

I agree...we still don't have a #1 CB but we have 2/3 of a solid LB corps. Plus maybe the light will go on in the offseason for Johnson or Blackstock, some players it takes a couple of training camps before they are ready to play everyday. I'm not against taking a LB but if a LB and a CB are sitting there who are rated the same on our board when we draft I'd take the CB.

I believe Timmons is staying in school...

I would say our biggest needs right now are defensive end, cornerback, center, and LT...

Not sure in what order I'd rank them... probably getting the Oline help is most key... but DE is a position i think we need serious help at..

Agreed with the positions of need with the assumption Big is moved to guard. I know the thought is to get a corner in the draft but I have seen enough of the inexperienced players at this position. Would love a vet with some leadership ability.

Posluszny is hugely overratted IMO. Especially after his preseason press clippings. Not even close to being a top 10 pick IMO.

Someone has already mentioned him, but I like Earl Everett of Florida a lot. I also really like Rufus Alexander of Oklahoma, dude is a terror and does it all. I am also interested in the 2 senior Michigan LB's.

There will be some nice LB prospects in the 2nd a 3rd round it would seem, just no top end talent IMO.

Maybe, just maybe, do your homework next time. In the Penn State defensive scheme, Posluszny used to play outside, where the LB gets to be a playmaker. Then he gets all the preseason hype, blah blah blah, while being moved inside. He sacrificed himself, and probably his draft position too, to help his team. He moved to an inside position that traditionally doesn't have the opportunity to make those plays, but helps occupy blockers so that other backers can freelance. Nobody else on the team was going to be able to do it, so the coaches asked him, and of course he did it.

No, he's not overrated. He's that good, AND he has a good attitude. Next time, read more than the press clippings ;)

Maybe just maybe you are just being a big Penn Sate homer. Well we know you are a Penn sate Homer ;)

Much like a one Cbuscardsfan who pimps every Ohio Stae player known to man.

Oh, ain't no bout adoubt it. As big a PSU homer as they come. :) And I'll be the first to say that Tony Hunt, no matter what numbers he has put up, isn't a good pro prospect. Just like I wasn't terribly thrilled with Bryant Johnson in the first round. Posluszny (sp?), though, is quite certainly the real deal. He's getting jobbed right now for taking a hit for the team, though, and I don't like it.

I think maybe you need to do a little research on me. There are alot of OSU players i have said to stay away from and thought were terrible. I never liked Troy Smith but he proved me wrong. I still think he'll be an average, at best, pro. I said i wouldn't draft Ted Ginn.I think i'm pretty good in my talent evals on OSU players. You're right though, when i think the guy will be a player, i pimp him hard. Chris Gamble was the last guy i wanted the Cards to badly draft.I did like AJ Hawk but knew he'd be gone. As for Posluzny, overrated, much like the guy from Iowa that Minnesota drafted last year,Greenway.

Did I ever say anything about forming my opinions based on press clippings. Next time read what I posted.

I stated I dont think he is as good as his press clippings, meaning he is not a top 10 pick like the preseason mocks were telling everyone.

I know he has switched from outside to inside, I have seen him play plenty this year and last year. Last year when he was a OLB his pass coverage skills very anything but good in fact they were a liability, his knee injury last year, and his problems adjusting to the MLB spot will hurt his draft status and is not a top 10 pick. Still a first rounder and I think he will be a good pro especially in a 3-4 scheme where his less then athletic ability can be hidden like the 3-4 LB's of the Pats. Never said he wouldnt be any good, I just expect to see a lot more out of a supposed top 10 pick, no matter what position change he makes.

Greenway's out for the year. Cheap shot, Jury's out, call it what you want, but time will tell.

I think he means that Greenway was being talked as a top 10 pick like Poz was but got drafted in at #17 after getting his game and body truely scrutinized during the offseason by scouts and GM's.

In my opinion, neither cbus, nor stout or russ or johnh or others are blind homers. If anything, they have been a bit harsh evaluating the players on their own teams. The honesty is much appreciated by all of us.

My fault, thought you were saying he was a wasted pick. Not an overhyped one or a too high drafted pick, which he could be.

I beg to differ. In my uneducated (and it is mostly uneducated) opinion, Posluszny will go top 10. We'll see.
