Rick Porcello?

Or does he have a brother named Fred?

Personally, I'm happy with the parker pick, but I agree with your the Easley pick does sound a little dumb

Sorry, I must have not typed all of Frederick (his full name).

Big run on college players for the D-backs so far on day 2. That's what I like to see.

Just caught some of the AA HS AS game and boy is Tim Alderson going to be something special. First he launches a 385+ ft HR, then comes on to pitch what would have been a perfect inning if not for the error by the SS, striking out 2. The guys he struck out just got worked, had not idea what was going on.

Wes Roemer (50th) and Ed Easley (61st) may be called supplemental first rounders, but in most MLB drafts the 50th and 61st picks are in the middle of the second round. With the lower talent level of this year's particular draft these guys are probably more like late second to third round guys, so to think of them as less impressive than our more recent supplemental first rounders isn't surprising.

Snippet on Easley article:
"One of the better compliments you can give a catcher is that he does a lot of things that are unnoticeable. And Easley does a lot of things like that," said A.J. Hinch, Arizona's director of player development and a former big-league backstop. "He doesn't drop a lot of balls, he's clean in his footwork and he has the look of a controlled catcher. He does everything pretty well behind the plate."
