Dwight should have been in the finals. And a couple of Green's dunks weren't all that impressive either...just sold well. They looked fantastic real time, and ok slo-mo.

Dwight's sticker was awesome. Nate's early dunks were better than his finals ones, by far. Weird.

Off the side of the backboard and the Dee Brown homage were both fantastic dunks from Green though...even the last one over the table was good but not great.

I wanted to see what else Dwight had to bring though...the sticker was great.
I would love to hear what Howard had planned. He probably had some crazy stuff up his sleeve.

They should change the rules so that the judges have to watch the replay before they can vote. I'd guess most of them didn't get the whole thing with Howard's sticker until it was too late.

Well, Howard got screwed. The dunk he had with the sticker high on the backboard was awesome. Nate Robinson was painful to watch on the last dunk. They did get the right guy in the end, though (Green).

BTW, the Barkley/Bavetta thing was HILARIOUS.

IMHO, Nate Robinson's presence has ruined the last two dunk contests. Dude can jump, but I feel robbed, not seeing what Howard was going to pull out in the final round.

I agree. And all his attempts make his dunks less special.

In fairness, Nate's first dunk was sick. His second was pretty ok. His last two (in the finals) weren't impressive at all. I don't know why they don't just give you two attempts, and that is it. 2 minutes is a long time. 2 attempts at a dunk is plenty. Do crap you can do almost every single time.

Dwight's Sticker Dunk should have been a 50. I can't believe they gave green's last dunk a 50 (when it was just his third best dunk of the contest) and Dwight's was not.

What was so impressive about Green's first dunk, with Pierce bouncing it off the side of the backboard? Pierce's part required some skill, but Green's part looked pretty ordinary to me (among the ranks of high-flying dunks).

Howard's sticker dunk was great. If that kind of creativity won't be rewarded, there's no way at all big guys can compete.

I think it was more the unique factor, which doesn't make sense with Howards Sticker dunk. I Agree with you, they should look at the replay before they judge.

Green looked good doing his dunks...that's the only way I can explain it. In slo mo, they weren't very impressive but live action the way he attacked the rim was impressive. In slo mo, most of Green's dunks weren't anything special at all. The side of the backboard one was creative, and he threw it down HARD.

Looks like it's shaping up to be Amare Stoudemire challenging Gilbert Arenas for that All-Star MVP... :D

Mike putting kobe in at the end allowing him to take the mvp from amare, what the hell? I actually see amare getting slightly pissed off by this.

As well he should seeing as Kobe is taking all the shots now. Amare's effort is still more impressive based on the points he has with the amount of minutes he played.

Wonder if Vegas still can be considered a viable option for a NBA team.. This crowd was rather bland.

To be fair Kobe had an excellent game and was deserving of the award, just as there should have been no argument had it gone to Amare.

Still, I agree with Espo. It's all about the big picture.

Nice to see Marion was saving a big effort for a game that matters.

I don't want to 'stale' on your parade but you overlooked: moldy, moth-eaten, shopworn, humdrum, prosaic, weary, pedestrian, dreary, stock, dull, wilted, fusty, stagnant, insipid, barren, bland, unpalatable, tedious, vigorless, bromidic, commonplace, musty, overused, tired...

Not that I think Eric's statement deserves it - I found it rather clever...

And I am impressed that someone 103 years old can still use a thesaurus.

The big question is, will the moderator's remove this post for my play on an arcane verb...
