If the Suns can get Monta Ellis (if he doesn't re-sign) I'd flip. Get Tyron Lue.

But Monta is just what the Suns need from outside. A guy who can do more than jumpshooting.

In particular two FA PG's that appeal to me are Arroyo and Udrih. Even these too players are probably too expensive. I'm thinking Arroyo might be more obtainable and I like him better anyway. I think the Suns getting Monta Ellis is just a nice dream.

he isn't a jumpshooter at all other than from mid range. he basically took the 3 point shot out of his game.

Vujacic will probably be extended this offseason. Even though he's restircted, the Lakers will look to lock him up long term.

You guys might laugh, but I actually think Kwamie Brown would be a great fit for Phoenix. He's a tough post defender, descent shot blocker, and he'll come dirt cheap. Kwamie is an offensive moron, but on the defensive end, he's not without talent.

Posey is a solid pickup. He has lockdown defense (when he wants to) and can spot up and shoot the 3 very nicely. Plus he like takes 2 charges a game, he is a good "actor".

The suns aren't going to pull any miracle moves, they might actually not even pull off a single move, period.

The only hope is a trade for artest since he has character issues.

In a van...down by the river.
The SUNS don't have the tool's to re-tool this championship run IMO.
Thats a great list BTW JLove(thanks).
If we "blow it up" and look to rebuild, i'd go after Josh Childress and sign him long term....
I also like Ryan Gomes.

A poor man's Wade.

But in seriousness..

Posey was the player I always wanted a Sun, he is a tremendous defender and can shoot the 3, a more athletic and longer Bruce Bowen.

Suns need either a Swingman or a BIG. Defensive reasons.

AND

a backup PG, resting Nash.... Defensive reasons.

Monta Ellis would be huge for us, a cross of Wade, Arenas, and Parker. Maybe he'd be too expensive for GS to resign, so that they might consider taking the cheaper version in Barbosa who also fits Nelson's team very well?

Diaw/LB/#15 for Harrington/Ellis?

Why would you want Harington over Diaw?

Diaw finally shows he is the Suns best post player...

Harington is a jump shooting big, with Amare and O'Neal, Amare will spend some time up there.

He does have a 3pt range better than Diaw.... but his defense is below or just on par with Diaw... not much change. Barbosa -> Ellis is just too one sided.

Baron Davis is up for grabs... Maybe Barbosa, Diaw, filler, 15th pick for Davis..

Davis can play the 1 and 2.... got to check the trade checker though..

Diaw for Harrington is to compensate Suns gains from LB for Ellis. I consider Ellis a much better player than LB.

Davis' contract is too huge. Also, GS might need him more as the true PG than they need Ellis.
