The Reno Aces. Now I would think it more cost-effective to drive up and down to Tucson than to fly back and forth to Reno. The Sidewinders owner is getting more $ from the group that is moving them to Reno, so away they go. I was hoping the team would choose 911 for the nickname. You know, the TV show, ah, forget it.
I would have rather they taken over the Las Vegas 51s, who the Jays AAA team will be next season, replacing the Dodgers' AAA team which is going to Albuquerque, replacing the Marlins' AAA squad, which is moving to New Orleans, replacing the Mets' AAA affiliate, who is moving to Buffalo, replacing Cleveland's AAA affiliate, who is moving to Columbus, replacing Washington's AAA affiliate, who is moving to Syracuse, replacing the Jays. That sentence should earn me some frequent flyer miles. Tucson drops several levels to independent Golden Baseball League, but they'll have their beloved Toros name.
