That home game against Carolina after a national TV game in NY the week before just got a whole lot tougher.
Sun. night isn't horrible - it could be a whole lot tougher if we played on Mon. Night.

Also - From the gist of everyone's posts, I'm assuming that Ford Field is enclosed (i.e. no concern about it snowing in the Motor City)?

Finally - We spend 4 of our first 5 weeks (and 3 of our first 4 games sandwiched around the BYE week) at home. Not too shabby.

I like the way this sets up...No real "bad weather" games...Chicago is a slight possibility, but it's early in November...the worst thing might be the wind there...Raid in J'ville is a possibility, too. I love the fact that we get 2 home games to finish the season...could be huge if we are fighting for a playoff spot.

Agreed. This actually turned out to be in the Cards favor quite a bit. Probably the easiest schedule in the league and they start and finish at home. Along with some very winable road games.

SF will be improved as will the Hawks and the Rams will stink, so the Cards should be able to win the division again and might even contend for a first round bye in the PO's.

Not bad. Real good for traveling to the games. Except once again they schedule the Cards at home the same day as the Checker 500 NASCAR event. 150,000 people all trying to get home from the West Valley at the same time.

When will they learn!?!?!?

Some interesting tidbits from NFL network..

There are over 700 TRILLION schedule combinations
Even though they use a computer program to build the schedule skeleton, the final one is done by hand. Basically 24/7 work for 10wks.
The U2 tour messed up a few home schedules including the Cards.

It was on NFL access, i believe, so they'll be re-airing it through the day.

2 Sunday Nights and 1 MN...Open vs. 49ers 4 years in a row..atleast it's at home...

Nice. Here's for hoping. I instantly had a bad feeling about this game. Paranoia, I am guessing. :)

Three 1pm starts in the East...Jax, Chicago, Detroit.

I guess it coulda been worse...at least the Rams game is a 4:05 start and the Giants game is at night.

Two of those should happen after daylight savings time. Not sure if that will help any, but just saying. Besides, we should be able to take Detroit and, well, hell, all of those teams. I am guessing Chicago will be toughest.

I can see this team going 11-5 this season if all goes according to plan. :)

Sweet....

I see... (3) Prime-Time games. One early in the season against the Colts when the season is young & promising. A clash w/the Giants around the 1/2 way point, and finally, as we turn for home, a probably meaningful Mon. niter against the 49ers. THAT'S what I call ENTERTAINMENT. I also like catching the Lions late, and then the final (2) games in UofP. That's HUGE!!! So, over-all this is very much to my liking. GO CARDS!! :D

Additional Weird Angles to Ponder...

1. Colts will be coming off a MNF game vs. the Dolphs before they play us (giving us a one-day edge in game-prep time).

2. We catch a game-prep break after our first SNF game because we go right into a BYE week.

3. We come off a BYE preparing for Houston which should give us prep advantage.

4. We lose a few hours of game-prep time when we play Carolina the Sun. after our Sun. Night road game vs. the Giants. But at least we recoup 2 - 3 of those hours because of the time change returning to AZ.

5. Bears face a short week after our game - they play the following Thursday in SF.

6. Tenn, will be coming off a MNF contest vs. Houston when they play us; giving us a slight game-prep advantage.

7. Coming off our MNF game vs. SF, we lose one day of game-prep vs. Detroit.

Another interesting note is that we don't play a single team this season right after their bye week. This is a really good schedule for us.

Chicago is on Central Time, so that should only be 2 "East Coast" games. And with one against Detroit, I'm not gonna complain.

So that makes it a noon start locally in Chicago...it's still an early game and the Cards rarely play well in early timeslot games.

Night games at home suck. So my only objection is the Indy game on Sept. 27. At least we don't have any home MNF games.

Overall, the schedule is good. Bring on the draft.

:yeahthat:

I don't even try to go to work the day after a night game. Monday night games are a nightmare. It takes me 20 minutes max to get to the game on a Sunday. On a Monday I have to plan on 1.5 hrs.

Tried it. Not any better. Besides with NASCAR in town all the NW and W side hotels prices are much higher. So are car rentals. But the traffic is by far the worst problem.

Last year with the game on the following Monday night was much better.

In addition I wouldn't want to miss out on the bus from Valle Luna. So I guess I'll just have to take some extra adult beverages for the return trip. & maybe a Cardinals pillow and blanket.

I wish the Cardinals vs Rams game was sooner than Nov. 22. I don't know if St. Louis will have snow & ice or not. I have travel 5 hours to get to st. louis.
