2011 Defensive Co-ordinator thoughts

I am not sticking up for the guy because I to think he should be gone, but the schemes while he was with the 49ers was not his own. That D was without a doubt Mike Nolans defense - scheme and plays.

Not only is it the DC but we have to face facts as well that it is also the players. Wilson has done jack squat this year, even when in the box, and Wilson will tell you the same and he has. People said when we let go of McFadden that it couldn't get worse with Toler, well guess what it did, it got far worse now McFadden is playing very well in Pitt again. According to the Cards sideline reporter Toler got benched in the last game because he had no clue how to play in his bracket coverage, bracket coverage is a simple concept and he doesnt know how to play in it. Campbell was supposed to be a monster this year and hasnt done anything, he has let us down. We traded up in the 2nd round for what is starting to look like another Branch, meaning another 2nd round pick we traded for who will never live up to expectations. Wont even go into the OLB fiasco.

There are a lot of speculations on a new DC out there this week. Is there any real evidence the Cards brain trust or or Whiz is even considering a change in the DC?. We need a well thought out plan on how to reorganize this team with both players and coaches and then execute the plan. Just going about it by hiring a new DC, having Whiz give up his OC duties, and shooting from the hip in all directions is not a plan. Bring the organization responsible parties together. Come up with a plan they all can agree to by years end and then execute it. Have your ducks lined up for FA QB so you can quickly go after who you want. Same with other players and coaches. Do not wait until years end to start your planning or the good choices will be gone. We are notorious for waiting to long and being to cheap.
