I don't think there is ever a good time to sign Hakim Warrick - even on the Suns he stands out as a bad defender. He's bad at 1-1 defense and bad at team defense - he's as likely to inadvertantly set a pick on one of his teammates as he is to get in the way of an opponent.

The Globetrotters worldwide office is here in Phoenix. I wonder if Hakim would be interested in playing on one of their traveling rosters.

I'm serious. On offense, he puts on a show that is fun to watch.

OT but I heard a little clip on Dwight Howard. He said he wanted to stay in Orlando (while taking subtle jabs at Lebron). Wanted to make his own path but it's up to Orlando, the organization and the city, to get behind him and bring in the people he needs. Sounded like a Chris Paul demand to me, or something like that.

He is acting like it's all good but there is already a contract extension on the table the Howard can but hasn't signed yet. I personally would love to see him on the Bulls.

Dwight staying in Orlando is good, Dwight going to Bulls is good.

Dwight going to the Lakers would be horribly wrong. They already caught 1 big break with Gasol, and this would just be too unfair.

I believe he will indeed stay in Orlando though. He seems to be focused on that ORL team now, but the press seems to put him everywhere else but there. Even though he always answered clearly that there was no talk of going anywhere, unlike the soap-opera that was the Melo trade.

I think it would be more accurate to say that he occasionally (closer to rarely than consistently) puts on a show that is fun to watch. At least his defense is consistent. You know exactly what you're going to get from him on D. It varies a little but always falls between horrible and slightly worse than horrible.

Not since Luc Longley have I watched a Phoenix Suns player set such wonderful picks. And like Luc before him, it's always a teammate that he's taking out of the picture.

I aint no Melo fan, but at least homie let his intentions be known. The media made a circus out of it, but not Melo. He gave the Nuggets ample time to get him out of there and get valuable pieces in return. That was the difference between his and the Queen's way of handling it.

Howard as a lot of options, he can pretty much stay or go anywhere he wants, how he does it and how the media responds and follows it will most likely be Barnum and Baily.

Coro's article today mentions free agent possibilities for the Suns. He goes on to say that Carter will likely be waived unless an offer comes in that bowls them over because the Suns are locked in on keeping flexibility for the 2012 offseason.

Targets

With the Suns likely limited to affordable free agents and the need to find younger players with upside, here is a potential free-agent route at each position for this summer:
Point guard: Rodney Stuckey, Pistons.
Shooting guard: Arron Afflalo, Nuggets.
Small forward: Al Thornton, Warriors.
Power forward: Luc Mbah a Moute, Bucks.
Center: DeAndre Jordan, Clippers.
He also mentions the possibilities of acquiring Redd and Flynn.

What a dismal list. Stuckey and Afflalo aren't good, SF is already covered, Mbah a Moute isn't a PF, and Jordan won't be available.

For goodness sake, please, someone tell me what the appeal of Flynn is. Brooks has done more in this league than he has. The worst team in the league is trying to dump him like a hot potato. I just don't get it. Reminds of Marcus Banks story. Why do we even bother bringing in bad players. When you do that you just have to get rid of them.

Why Redd? Just don't get it.

DeAndre Jordan would be worth having, but I don't think we can get him.

Afflalo is good. He's an elite defender and a good 3pt shooter. His game is also starting to expand more. But I doubt Denver lets go anyway.

Mbah a Moute would be an option only if Hill retires. He's a good defender like Hill.

The only player the Suns should even CONSIDER this offseason is Deandre Jordan...

Signing anyone else to anything but a small 1 year year would be horrific..

Which is exactly why I expect the Suns to go and make trades and sign players just enough to completely screw their 2012 chances..

If the Cap is anywhere near where it is now, if the Suns are careful come 2012, they will have almost 30 million in cap space, in no particular order the potential UNRESTRICTED Free agents they could go after:

Kirk Hinrich
KG
Baron Davis
Antwan Jamison
Raymond Felton
Courtney Lee
Chris Kamen
Mo Williams
Andrew Bynum
Deron Williams
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard
Jameer Nelson
Gerald Wallace
Marcus Camby
Elton Brand
Steve Nash
OJ Mayo

Assuming they buy out Carter's corpse, they will be somwhere between 8-10 million under this year... the WORST thing they could possibly do is overpay for some medicocre role player this offseason..

They are some SERIOUS names in 2012 and with potentially 30 million in cap room the Suns and possibly another high draft pick the Suns could turn this thing around in a hurry...

Can DeAndre Jordan and The Polish Hammer be our twin towers or do they play the same position?

Naturally I'd like to get Chris Paul, Deron Williams and/or Dwight Howard but I'm pessimistic these days... I hope $arver $ell$ the team.
