I feel FA should focus on OL as there will be some upgrades available at OT & OG than what we currently have. I figure ARZ will probably sign 3-4 FA's so I will try and stay as reasonable and realistic as possible.

FA:

OT Demetrius Bell - I feel he can be had at a reasonable price and is a huge upgrade over Brown at a fraction of the cost. Reminds me of Mike Gandy who turned out to be a great acquisition.

OG Ben Grubbs - Nicks will be too pricey and Grubbs will probably be the priciest FA we sign but BAL's running game has been one of the best in the NFL the last few years and Grubbs is a big reason why.

OT Jared Gaither - Should come at a reasonable price as he didn't have a pay day type of year last season. Still young and would be a huge upgrade from Keith.

WR Robert Meachem - Kind of took a back seat in NO with all weapons on that squad. WR market is pretty flooded so he make come at a reasonable price. Big, young and can stretch the field. Perfect compliment for Fitz and shifts Roberts to the slot where he could be more effective.

As you can see no PM (health should still be a concern) but with an improved OL and another big weapon, Skelton should have a better year. The draft should address the defensive side of the ball more specifically the LBing corp, DL & OL depth and SS.

Gaither is a GREAT player, but he's a headcase. There's a reason why so many teams have dropped him, when nobody typically lets good LT's walk. I would be surprised if we pursue him.

Meachem is an underacheiver IMO

Grubbs is damn good.

As San Diego will be cutting McNeil due to neck injury and cost, they intend to keep Gaither. Bell may very well be on the radar screen for the Cards and many others, but the simplest way to deal with one tackle position is to readjust Levi Brown's contract. Whiz has spoken well of Levi's play over the last 10 games of the season, so it seems likely they'll head in that direction.

Given other needs, price, the draft and Hadnot under contract, I doubt that Grubbs will be a target.

Certainly believe that Meachum could be in the mix for the elusive number 2 w/o role.

Doubt that Skelton is under centre game one of 2012 season.

If we just got Grubbs and Bell I would be a happy camper.

I just don't know if Bell is our type of Tackle. 6-5 311lbs seems to slender for our coaches. We seem to like the guys over 320. Not sure if Bell can hold more weight and be as effective.

Grubbs would be a huge signing. Grubbs, & Gaither would be amazing. Grubbs, Gaither, & Bell sounds like something I would see playing Madden on my Xbox.

I don't see Manning in the Cards future nor do I see Rhode, Kolb or Bradley going anywhere. I do see them going after another WR and a T from some team. Other than that there will probably be no other FA signings. CC probably gets the tag. We need to remember Whiz is not one to go after the first flurry of FAs that hits the market and we know how fast the top tier goes. Whiz and Graves prefer to pick at the meat left on the bone believing that this top notch coaching staff will make better players out of that meat.

Does anyone really believe that they will change direction form the previous years Mo? The only saving grace this year is a flat salary cap and the fact that there will be more FAs than ever before on the market. We might end up with a gem or two simply because the market supply will be more than the demand.

They may go after a top tier OL (T) , either Gaither or Bell. Probably let them field a offer or two, then make their pitch.

Grubbs would make a nice addition. Repay them for getting Anquan. :p

For someone who claims to be evidence-based, where does this come from? Kolb hasn't illustrated that he's capable of even starting a majority of games in the NFL--he's been injured both years he's been coronated the starter without "winning" the job.

We can certainly hope that Kolb starts 16 games and wins all of them--I certainly do--but to expect that is a pretty questionable proposition.

He didn't say Kolb would start 16 games. He actually didn't say that he would start any. There is still a very real possibilty IMO that PM will be under center. Also, Kolb would have had almost two weeks off to rehabilitate before game 1, being as though he likely wont play past the first half in game 3 of the preseason or at all in game 4 if we dont sign Manning...

I said "doubt". Unlike you, I avoid certainty.

Your plan is complex, but I flat disagree with most of it.

RB: Will not be addressed in the first 4 rounds of this draft, if at all. We have too many other needs to address. Sometimes, you have to put trust in players healing as sched.

WR: If we wanted to invest in 7+mil a year in a WR, we would have invested that money into Q.

OL: This needs to get fixed, and the time looks to be now.

LB: I can't see FA acquisitions here, other than re-signing Haggens. We won't cut Bradley, and SILB just isn't an impactful enough position to spend a 1st rounder on a smaller and less athletic player at that position.

S: We are not cutting/trading Rhodes.

I still see Brown restructuring and moving to RT. Then a signing of Bell for LT. Then at #13 you sign the BPA of the OL. Rieff if he falls, DeCastro or Martin. If you end up taking an OT you move Brown to RG and let Bell and Rieff/Martin fight it out for LT/RT. If it is DeCastro, he plays RG, Brown at RT and Bell at LT.

With OT's usually in high demand why do you, and many others, think Brown would restructure? It looks to me like he's gone within a couple of days of the Cards releasing him. Or do you think his extremely low rating by some of the football evaluators will leave the Cardinals as his best option for getting maximum money?

Manning, Kolb, Campbell, Brown, Doucet... it will be an interesting March for Arizona fans to say the least.

The voice of reason. We can all dream of FA signings, but I think the front office did a once-in-a-decade of burst of activity last offseason and we won't see nearly as much this offseason. That doesn't mean they won't explore Peyton Manning when he hits the market. It just means they won't be nearly as active as last season when they signed two tight-ends, a wide receiver, an ILB, a backup DL, and a punter.

I do hope they address offensive line & wide receiver, and add a pass rusher.

I don't think Brown will restructure, why would he? He either gets paid $17M or he can take advantage of a weak OT market and sucker some poor team into paying him to play LT. Grubbs & Bell combined may account for less than that and you get 2 players. Like I mentioned I would rather have these 2 guys and draft depth OL and draft a pass rusher #1 and fill other defensive needs via the draft as well.

We will have to wait and see with Gaither as he isn't exactly known for his clean medical history either. Guy has been dealing with neck and back issues as well so it will be interesting to see if SD cuts McNeill who is more proven for the enigma that is Gaither.
