First round
#7 Jonathon Cooper

Second round
(Trade down from 38 to 45 plus pick 110)
#45 Kevin Minter

Third Round
#69 Tyrann Mathieu

Fourth round
#103 Alex Okafor

Fourth Round
(Trade down from 110 to 116 plus pick up 187)
#116 Earl Watford

Fifth Round
#140 Stephan Taylor

Sixth Round
#174 Ryan Swope

Sixth Round
#187 Andre Ellington

Seventh Round
#219 D.C Jefferson

It's taken two years but this draft class is healthy and well adjusted and one of the major reason we are having the success we are having. Arizona has a dominate running game for the first time I can remember. Cooper and Watford are looking like very good young lineman and if Massie wants big money I don't think the Cards will have any problem making Big Earl the RT of the future.

As someone noted in another thread Minter is 7th in the league in tackles for a loss. He was drafted to be a down hill LB and that's what he is. He's playing great.

Alex Okafor is our best pass rusher and while he's not a star he is very. Solid and has a motor that does quit.

Mathieu and Ellington are flat out two of the most explosive players in the NFL.

To hit on 6 players like that in one draft is amazing. What a great job by the front office.

Okafor is injured but you're spot on on the rest.

I'm pretty sure he didn't mean healthy as in a literal term... I think he meant in a contributing well done draft kind of way..

Hmm, good points. To play the advocate here, id say the jurry is still very well out on the first two picks. Although hitting on Ellington, Tyrann, and Okafor makes the draft salvagable no matter what. Coop and Minter are contributing but 1st-2nd rounders should be the better players on the team, the rest of this year will tell us a lot. Good post.

If they thought Watford was the RT of the future would they have put Massie right back in the lineup especially if they think Massie is gone? I think he is for sure quality depth though.

I think swope would have been a very good ST player for us too if it wasn't for his concussions.

Thus far here is the value of this draft (made by switching rounds):

Round 1: S Tyrann Mathieu

Round 2: RB Andre Ellington

Round 3: OLB Alex Okafor

Round 4: G Jonathan Cooper

Round 4: ILB Kevin Minter

Round 5: RB Stepfan Taylor

Round 6: G Earl Watford

Thing is, his concussions issues were well known and he had little chance of making it.

I don't mind taking a late round flyer on a guy but he didn't even make it through half of camp did he?

Still, burning a 6th rounder and taking a chance is no big deal.

Agree with the OP, very good draft thus far. I would say that Cooper keeps developing, Watford is solid starter quality, and Minter will also continue to develop and at some point stop being the most popular whipping boy on ASFN.

BASK are all in for this year and that means keeping Palmer healthy is priority #!. Massie is currently better in pass pro then Watford at the RT position which shouldn't be a surprise because Watford has just starting taking snaps at RT this offseason.

Can Watford be out RT of the future, I wouldn't rule it out at this point. I actually hope that Veldheer is out RT of the future and Humphries can take over at LT but that's a dream for another day. :)

To finish the dream (even though this drives some posters crazy) I move Cooper to C and slide Watford into the RG slot. Now that's an all star Oline and would challenge for the best in the league IF Humphries makes use of his talents.

The crazy thing to me is where we have been drafting the past few years is usually right in the wheel house of where the best centers come off the board. I wouldn't trade the Buchanon pick for a center but forsure would have went with a center over Humphries pick. All in all can't complain with what kiem has done in the draft the last few years he seems to find a couple game changers in each draft, now we just need those game changers to play olb or center

Come on now. There was only one center even worthy of the first round that year. Cam Erving and he went before we were up.
